Baker hasnt changed, committed, but rash challenges, crap distribution and beaten in the air by someone half his size.

Indeed. I was never bothered about him leaving and he was never good enough for us in the first place. Didn’t understand the booing though. Maybe it was because of the yellow card but other than that he always tried his best at Villa and never really took the piss.

Great win, and great to end this little run of fixtures back in 5th.

You never know, it could be the difference between a player from the top flight joining us or not.  At the start of the season, I'm sure part of the hard sell to Terry, Snodgrass and whoever is that we'd be aiming to go up. Whilst we would still have argued that even if we were outside the play off spots, it's easier to do that from where we are now, rather than 8th place.

And booing Beckenbaker is idiotic.  Gave his all whilst he played for us and only left when it looked like he wouldn't get a run of games. Which at his age, he couldn't go through again.

It's not as if he started getting too big for his boots and bailed to play Champions League football or some such bobbins.

Great win that sends a message throughout the tin pot division we are in. Huge back to back wins and right back in the fight for second place. Hogan off the mark could be key for the rest of the season. Bruce's persistence with Snodgrass has been justified. Swapping Adamoah for Traore up there getting Carew for Baros.

Just got back in after being at the game earlier.  Slow start, but picked up after we scored the first and then took off after the second.  I have to say that Jack Grealish put in the kind of performance we all hope to see from him and really ran the game in a deeper midfield role.  Said in the thread before the game that having Jedinak in the defensive midfield role means we don't break on teams, but Grealish linked it really well today.

Got to say I'm pleased for Bjarnason, Elphick and a Hogan who all made good contributions tonight.  They have all struggled since coming here, but did well tonight.  To see a number of youngsters on the pitch in the closing stages was really encouraging and they also did well.

Whether we can build on it remains to be seen, but a very encouraging performance.

I think most of the booing was down to his attempt to fuck Super Jack up and reduce his efficiency.

Now that's what I call a great evening out. Villa Park under floodlights, flames and fireworks before the game, dishing out a thrashing playing some great stuff, and 5 quality goals. Yes we were poor for the first 15 minutes, and if they'd scored that one straight after half time things would have been different, but that was a superb performance by the whole team. Grealish MOTM for me.  And fair play to Snodgrass and Bjarnason - I've been among their biggest critics but they both played very well. Mmmm, humble pie.

Agreed. He was always very popular here. It was purely the challenge, which could easily have been a red, that provoked the hostility

Fantastic! Great stuff Villa! Play a bit of football and I can take any result. With the players we have though, playing a bit of football can be effective. I hope we can keep this momentum going now.
