Jedinak and Whelan inserted to protect against an Elphick clanger. It won't be quick kids. Hopefully Hogan can find some inspiration in fond memories of his time at Brentford and bag a couple today.

Hogan has to deliver today. Very much bollock and bite in the centre of the park but Hourihane can have no complaints. Right decision to bring Elphick and Hogan in. Unfortunately Grealish is likely to have to drop a lot deeper with Whelo/Jedi sitting. Snodgrass somehow gets another start, Bjork probably deserved a shot ahead of him.

This is the chance Hogan’s been waiting for, especially with Grealish just behind him. Let’s hope we play the ball to his feet.

Other way round where a forward had left us and not scored in ages, coming back to Villa Park you'd know exactly what would happen.

No legs in the middle of the park is a worry.

Correct. Factors such as a rare start, against his old club, Grealish behind him and a transfer window looming means this MUST be the day Hogan delivers. If not, then I fear his Villa career is over.

Someone needs to kick Woods out of the game. As long as the front four spend some time passing and interchanging then that might work.

Lack of pace in that team a concern. Guessing Gabby is injured again or still noshing the pigs in blankets.

Still see Brentford passing us off the park.

Surely Whelan or Jedinak will be given the task to properly mark Woods this time?

Let's see if Hogan-Grealish can actually link up. TBH if I was bringing Hogan back I'd play him upfront with Davis just to see how things look like.

Problem then is how to fit Adomah in but maybe just give him a free role.

If Agbonlahor was fit, pace in the team would still be a concern.

Are you talking about the weather or the contributions to the thread?
