Afraid i'm not to hopeful of a result tonight. Mentally they will be in a much better position than us and that is some part down to how Mr.Bruce approaches matches.Brentford will be looking to win and we'll be looking at not loosing. There in lies our problem.

I was going, but now can't due to illness.

Expect a thumping 3-0 away win and thank me later.

Just watched highlights of our 3-1 win over West Ham, Boxing Day 1991, after it popped up on my Facebook feed from VillaBoy - that guy has great videos of the Villa every day.

I'd go...

-------------------------- Johnstone -------------------------

De Laet -------- Chester ---------- Elphick --------- Taylor

--------------- Hourihane --------- Jedinak ----------------

Adomah ------------------ O'Hare ---------------- Grealish

---------------------------- Hogan ---------------------------

No doubts he'll pick the usual:
Johnstone
Elmohamady
Chester
Jedinak
Taylor
Hourihane
Whelan
Snodgrass
Grealish
Adomah
Davis

Are they the full 90 minutes ? I may put one on at 7.45 tonight.

I really want him to give a couple of the talented kids a shot. Freshen it up. He won’t. Either way we need to be aggressive and disciplined. Show attacking intent and calmness in closing down their threat. They play some decent stuff so we have to be aware of that. I said a loss earlier and I still think that because Bruce I believe will play too conservatively and that will invite trouble. Here’s hoping I’m entirely wrong.

I am totally confident that Bruce's team selection and strategy will ensure we do not take 3 points at mighty Brentford.

Agree with the above 100%. We are the easiest team to defend against, have a slow midfield and a toothless, almost non existent attack.

Defeat

Just win the game, please

That's what Smith will say to Brentford. Bruce will be " just don't loose the game please ".
