Loved Alex. Was 12 in 1977 and played in midfield and was blonde like him. Remember listening to Tony Butler (probably whilst playing subbuteo) announcing that Croply had broken his leg. Gutted. he was never the same

The thing is the game was already won and lost for them when Cantello took Cropley's  leg.  So much for their wonderful football blar blar blar
