Point is that for this level our side yesterday was expensively assembled, I doubt many other sides put out a 16 that cost over £40m.

Win some, lose some, draw some.

We can't win every game. Onto next week and hopefully a much improved performance.

What did ours cost?

Johnstone - any loan fee?
Taylor- part of a swap
Samba - no fee
Chester - £6/7 million?
Hutton - £3 million in 2011

Whelan - £500k?
Lansbury- £1.5 million/£2 million?
Onomah - any loan fee?

Adomah - £6million
Snodgrass - any loan fee?

Davis - no fee

Hardly billions and that has been the side save Hourihane and Terry for a few months, both of which make the side even less expensive.

Whelan a million, Taylor valued at 2.5-3m in the Ayew deal apparently, Chester at least £8m as the Bitters were saying they got more from us than they paid for him. And the loans will be a couple of million.

But no one has said it was billions, just expensive for this level. I also said the 16. And Terry would be instead of Samba and Conor for Lansbury not sure how it makes the 11 cheaper as Terry cost the same as Samba and Conor is reported to have cost more than Lansbury.

Hourihane was 1.2 million or something like that. The issue with our spending is the 20 million or 30 million we wasted.

I thought we were lucky to get something out of the game as Milwall were good. They’d be very good if they had someone who could finish. We were given little time on the ball until the last 10 minutes or so when they began to tire understandably with the amount of effort they put in. Again Grealish made the difference when he came on. He has to start the next game.

Yesterday was rubbish, other than the keeper the players looked half asleep. There centre back was massive and when the opposition are able to bully Davis others need to step up and none of them did.

It was a classic away performance from them. They packed the 18 yard box when we were attacking and broke with pace when they got the chance. They had one break in the first half where Albert was our last man!! We're just about ticking over in the play offs. Millions wasted on trying to put square pegs in round holes (Hogan) Their team cost peanuts and could of taken all 3 points and we could have no complaints. It's just not good enough.

Our wage bill is right up there for this level.

Not any championship sides out there who could go out and get Snodgrass on a season long loan. Cardiff and Sheffield United certainly couldn't.

Cardiff signed players from QPR (Holliet), Rochdale (Mendez-Laing) and Walsall (Etheridge) who have all been key players for them this season.

Although it was extremely poor as they say in racing "we are still in the van" when it comes to promotion. I just hope we'recommend still in it come the end of December and then we manage to make a couple of inspired signings in January.

I do love a racing analogy. The old adage of 'to finish first, first you have to finish' also seems rather appropriate as to who the club should be desperately looking to bring in during the up & coming transfer window. ;)

Any more for any more?

One of the best racing bon mots Auntie also applies to football.  If you want to make a small fortune, start with a large one.

Average age about 40! Pathetic
If a coach load of football tourists from smaller clubs want to come to VP and take selfies on the steps of a proper ground and club, then walk away without any problems then I am not bothered.
I'm sure the Woking fans will probably be the same.

Adomah doesn't score, we don't win.

And if he doesn’t score he doesn’t seem to contribute much because his wing play isn’t really up to much really. I’d stick Grealish in the team next week in his place.

Spot on. We should take it as a compliment really.
