Is Bilbao in Spain?  Yes.  Is there an 'o' on the end of Athletic?  No.  My bad.

They consider themselves Basque, not Spanish. They get very offended at being called Spanish.

I believe Athletic (and for that matter Milan - not "Milano", and quite a few others) were founded by British ex-pats, hence the name.
