Ah... the current default insult. What’s ‘snowflake’ about having a discussion about current affairs? Or did you just learn that phrase from the comments section in the Mail Online?

Have you anything constructive to say?
It's just a flag.

It seems an odd thing to be perturbed about.  In the grand scheme of things, it seems utterly irrelevant on just about every level I can think of.

Also I’m 52... so not really in the ‘snowflake generation’ demographic.

The flag is symbolic of something though isn’t it? When Man City had Sinawatra as owner we called them Human Rights FC and laughed at them when he was ousted. We’d be uncomfortable if Abramovich owned us despite the millions he would bring with him. Russian interference in western elections is truly shocking and Abramovich is implicated by association. Enough people on here are offended enough by Terry to spit bile every time his name is mentioned for previous adulterous, violent and racist incident in his life. And yet we’re happy for the flag of an oppressive state to fly above our comfortable and safe liberal institution.

Yup. It's his company, his stadium.

If he wants to stick an ISIS flag on there, it's pretty much his call.

That’s a very good point. I wonder what the flag threshold would be?

It's just a hunch but I think his missus might have some pretty strong views on subliminal messages in children's stories.

Zero democracy, global state sponsored hacking, espionage, near summary executions, detention without trial, repression of ethnic groups and religious freedom, human rights violations. Need I go on? Considering the outcry when John Terry signed, I’m surprised the moral majority on HandV aren’t extremely concerned.

If that's your issue, surely the time to get upset is when the Chinese guy buys the club, not afterwards when he sticks his country's flag on the roof?

Well not really. I can accept that the funding to buy Villa came via China through the global economy. Do any of us really know where our money comes from? Your bank or your investments? Your iPad or your clothing? I think that flying the flag of a murderous repressive regime however over Villa Park is beyond the pale.

I get where you are coming from but maybe this will help.

Dr.X is a businessman he has nothing to do with his government's actions. He is proud to be Chinese. Nothing wrong with that. Lots of Russians are patriots as well who have no love for Putin, the majority of USA citizens hate everything Trump and his voters stand for but love their country.

Sometimes you have to distinguish between the government and the country you know?

edit: Anyway not trying to belittle your concerns, just trying to hopefully help give you a way of looking at things so you dont ruin your enjoyment of Villa with the flag there. Hope it helps.
No they don't, otherwise he wouldn't have been elected 12 months ago!

You might want to check the popular vote count, BC54!
