It is just so recognisably a Manc anthem though.  It is strongly associated with Manchester, and the band who sings it have a connection with Manchester City.  It doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things I suppose, but I have heard a couple of non-Villa supporting mates question why we sing it, for similar reasons to those.

I'd say they're winding you up! Tell them the story and point out that at least it proves we're not bitter.

Is a great Villa song.  And the fans have had the opportunity to sing it at the end of games for years, but it never really happened.  DLBIA is working for reasons discussed.  But I would like it if The Bells are Ringing was sung a lot more.

The Bells Are Ringing - is that soley a Villa song? As in, do other clubs have a claim to it too? reason I ask is that I'm sure I remember listening to WM and hearing it played in the background at another Midlands ground.

I'd just like something that is instantly recognizable as being Villa . As good as DLBIA is it's instantly associated with Man City.

I cringed when it started up at Reading last season just as I cringed when tens of thousands of Villa fans were singing Rockin' all over the World at Wembley in 1994. In both cases it wasn't the spontaneous actions that some on here like to think - it was just fans singing along to whatever shite the PA announcer happened to be playing after a great win.
