a bit concerned about the pace SHA have upfront (look at the goal Che Adams scored v Cardiff if you think I'm making it up)

Thanks for the heads up. Nice goal that. Lovely accurate finish.

Do people really think SB is going to have a proper go on Sunday?

I would imagine he'll put his handbrake coach mode on and be a bit concerned about the pace SHA have upfront (look at the goal Che Adams scored v Cardiff if you think I'm making it up) and so the defence will be pushed a little deeper.

At least Onomah played well last week so we shouldn't be overrun in central midfield which was another concern of mine.

I just worry in these high pressure games he just reverts to his default mode which is defend deep and try to nick a goal which results in us barely able to construct any decent attacks as we saw at Wolves and in many away games under him.

He will know deep down if he loses this he's in big trouble again with his position despite our reasonable league position so I worry we'll set up similar to last year when we just about held onto a draw.

Hope I'm wrong of course.

Bruce will go for the draw but will end up with the 3 points. He's the luckiest manager in the world. Who else could be so poor for so long and still be Villa manager?*

Again we turn up at that place with one of thier ex managers.
We should be better than this.

I never wanted Bruce as manager but I’ve warmed to him somewhat since. For all his links to that lot he at least has turned into something resembling a football club again, you know, winning the odd game here and there. It’s been years since we’ve won more games than we’ve lost and we’re in a decent position. He’ll take us up and he’ll have my eternal respect for that.

Whenever I'm asked what the score is going to be in these games, I almost always say a draw because it usually tends to be or it's won by the odd goal (apart from the wonderful 5-1).

I can see us putting 3 or 4 past them on Sunday.

Putting aside the fact that it's scum we're playing on Sunday and all that this fixture involves...
We're the team with promotion ambitions and class! We need the 3 points to consolidate our play-off position. We definitely need the 3 points if we're intending on automatic promotion. Come on the Villa! UTV

I can't remember another one before that - maybe it's my memory.

They've started with the 'Vile bring 500 coaches' lark on SHA and Twitter. Those big bad Zulus forget that their club laid on 15 coaches for them last season which they filled, and more. They've been bringing 15-20+ coaches to us since the 2-2 game in '04 but that doesn't suit their agenda. They were absolute no shows at VP last season, they give it the 'we were all over town' and 'we all march to the ground' but I don't think any of us saw one of them all day other than in the ground.

I'm a miserable, gloomy scrote, so nagging in my head are these thoughts:

1. They are coming off the back of a bad defeat and performance so will have a point to prove.
2. Coupled with the fact that Cotterill will know the easiest way to get the rabble in the stands behind him is to beat us, so he'll have them pumped up.
3. They invariably raise their game against us/drag us down to their level.
4. Their home form recently isn't too bad (won the last two haven't they?).

But most of all -

5. Law of averages dictates that they're due a win against us.

All that said, will make it even sweeter if we do win.

UTV.

One of the reasons our club are arranging coaches is due to the fact that there are no trains running to Duddeston before kick-off.

Who the f-ck cares what scum are saying! Focus on the Villa!
If we press high up the pitch, as we did last week and stay strong at the back, then hopefully we will win. VTID

I've been to about 4 away games at the Sty since the fixture returned in 2002, and have never used a coach and never will.we don't need to be organised by people. Taxis, buses, drive  or walk.

When else has that happened? McLeish never managed us at the sty.
