I think if a player is plucked from obscurity before the age of 18 you can call him one of your own in that respect. Davis would not likely have made it had we not found him and given him a shot after being turned away by Stevenage. It gives the fans something to hold on too as well.

There wasn't one. It's was Keinan, Keinan, Keinan in a Shreaer type way.

Andre Green is the one of our own song.

The one of our own discussion re Keinan and Kel reminds me of Gregory's quote about Brightons chairman not being able to recognise Gareth Barry and Michael Standing if they were stood on their heads on Brighton beach.

I was sitting Lower Holte and when Davis hit the bar it was very clearly heard.

Heard it from P8 in the DE too, just after the header.  Then the same to AG after he scored.  Only heard the "KEINAN! KEINAN!" after that though - I thought they were shouting "KEEGAN!" for a second! :D

The "one of our own" chant was heard for Davis and Green on Saturday. I tried to get the chant started for Elmohamady, but nobody joined in.

Thought the lads Houllier brought through were all quite decent, to varying degrees (or at least they all eventually kicked on after they left us) - Albrighton, Clark, Bannan, Hogg.

Like what we've seen so far from the current lot though - we'll see if Bruce is bold enough to keep them involved even when he doesn't necessarily have to.

I agree and at times they played some nice football, but this crop seem a cut above. Will have to go some to beat the crop of 1972 though (Jake Findlay, John Gidman, Bobby McDonald, Alan Little, Jimmy Brown, Tony Betts, and Sir Brian Little)

And another batch in the early 80s - Cowans, Shaw, Williams, Gibson.

This was probably the best 'batch' and before that Cahill, Davis, Gardner

Way too early to call for me. Though interesting that they're mostly 18-19 year olds. Only really Grealish and Lyden have come through and been retained at the 21-22 bracket. Though I think we should have kept Robinson

Good stuff.  Only issue I see is that Grealish, O'Hare and RHM pretty much all play in the same position which might limit their chances.  I like what I have seen of O'Hare so far - looks decent on the ball and works hard.  Might have a look at some of the U23 games this season.

If we're going to play with four attacking midfielders there'll be plenty of opportunities for grealish and a good few for O'Hare

Think RHM may need to go on loan

Don't think Bjarnason will be here this time next year

Where I was sitting in the lower Holte I could hear the one of our own chant for both Keinan and Andre.

Not sure where Grealish would fit in to the system used on Saturday, other than on the left wing.  I'd be interested to see if O'Hare could develop into a player capable of playing in one of he two more advanced central midfield roles.

I thought the lad who played left back had a great game, great tenacity and a couple of great through balls.nGot caught in possession a couple of times but recovered well...

Agreed, very right footed though.
