What is really shocking is how out of shape and unfit we look. There's no excuse for that.
That's not because players are unfit as individuals it's due to poor formation, noddy tactics and generally being overrun by "superior" opposition coaching styles.
Do we have a helpline number for people who have been mentally traumatized by this thread?

Yep, the midfield is just a mess defensively and offensively, someone explain what they are trying to do, we surrender territory and then have to run all over the place to plug gaps, we give up the ball so easily we are always having to chase space.
In the end you get pretty knackered.
With the players we have, we should not be losing 3-0 to anyone in this division, its as simple as that. Anyone who is in charge of this Villa team and suffering a defeat like that, should not be in a job anymore.
Colin Calderwood, we are coached by this has-been?.

Feels like we've been saying that for years.
Up there with
"Why cant we improve our midfield?"
"Oh god the new manager thinks Gabby is the answer."
"Do we even practise throw ins?"
"Out for the season, he got injured at BodyMoor."
"Baker head injury."
We started brightly enough but it turned to shit not long after. It was awful.

If Hogan had of put that early chance away we may have won the bloody game because we started really well. There's no excuse really though because after that we were quite frankly a disgrace. The only bright spot was Onomah who looks a cut above. Why Bruce took him off is anyone's guess.

I find it hard to disagree with a single word of that. He has had time and money, the two things managers ask for. Last season to weigh up his squad and a pre season to strengthen the squad.

Not even sure about that, we were a shambles formation wise, it is just a matter of time for teams to work us out.
That's 3 games in a week where we've started brightly and been much the better team for the opening 15 minutes. Surely we don't tire after 15 minutes? Are they instructed to sit back or take a breather and then we don't regain control? I just don't get it. Who is our fitness coach?
Someone mentioned Calderwood above, have we actually played well since he joined us after we played Brighton away?

I keep saying this to those who tell me he needs time. Bottom line is it's his team, he's had money and still it's still no different.
I had to laugh last week when he was bleating about money for players as he's spent loads.
We've supposedly bought the best players from other teams and now they look ordinary. I don't know if it's them feeling comfortable or joining a bigger club which makes them underperform.
I think the addition of Colin Calderwood has done nothing for the tactics or coaching.
All a bit depressing isn't it?
4800 Villa fans at the match today (according to the police anyway). Absolutely bloody brilliant support. The fans are doing their bit that's for sure.
Just imagine what travelling support we'd have if we had won more than 5 away in 44. Our support really is amazing.

Bodymoor Heath is one of the finest training facilities a professional footballer can ask for. That it produces a succession of shite footballers is a huge headscratcher.
