I'm a Cork supporter, but my view has always been that if the scores are tied, highest number of goals should win it.

So no complaints from me, Clare were worthy champs.

That save from the Clare keeper near the end of extra time was what swung it. Cork player should have taken his point there. Some poor decisions after that cost them. Great game though, and always nice to see someone other than Kilkenny, or lately Limerick, winning it. Even if its only ever one of about 4 other teams.

Hurling is an incredible sport. So skilled, so fast, so chaotic.

My Grandma, from County Limerick, lost her mother at a young age, and grew up on a farm with her father and two uncles. Being a young (English) kid at the time, I remember asking her about the difference between the football and the hurling.

"I hear the football's popular up North," she said. "But I like a man's game."

They're not professional in the sense that they don't get paid to play, but most of the "big" counties have a very professional set up when it comes to training and facilities.
