Read and weep

This is a great summary of the times we lived back when Villa were a force to be reckoned with!
For all those who missed the 1970's and 1980's, here is a little bit of what it was like.
From the Grauniad online.

Thanks Mister E. I'm weeping that we might not, if ever, see those sorts of days again.

Great read. My 2 great passions, Villa and Metal....although never really liked Judas Priest. Tony Morley does have a touch of the Rick Parfitt about him in that picture.

You made an old man happy. Not forgetting the dross in both-Plenty of great bands around then and some epic games of football.

Yeah, I was 18 in 1976 and I now believe we lived through Villa's Golden Era, starting in 1970: what an amazing 12 years, in the prime of my life! And the music of that period was - in the main - also epic.

I was 3 in 1976 - spent most of the time naked or in underpants, with a fat tummy. Remember it well. Nice article, but a bit contrived. Quality pic of mr withe and Mr mcnaught with the fans outside the ground. Fella far left resembles someone in the Villains book?

Me too! Metal and Villa, besides my wife, family and great friends, are the only things I truly love.

Great article. Thank you for sharing.
