Kevin Keegan once stopped at a pedestrian crossing in Newcastle to allow myself and a mate to cross. "FUCK ME, IT'S WOR KEV" shouted my mate and 'wor' Kev gave us the thumbs up.

My colleague Kevin, who is 65, was at junior school with Keegan in Doncaster. His claim to fame is that the school team was run by a nun and in one game where things were not going well she decided on a Lambertesque tactical reshuffle and took off Keegan to replace him with our own Kevin who now is a thin 6ft 4.  Despite the ensuing aerial bombardment they lost.

That's why I hope we don't get a nun running our first team any time soon.

I've posted this before but I knew a guy who did a bit of scouting in the Midlands for Norwich who carried around a boiled sweet in his wallet that he was given by Kevin Keegan when he sat next to Keegan at a game once.

Apparently Robert Maxwell is still alive and well and living in Tenerife. At least that was the popular conspiracy theory when I was living out there in the mid nineties. Everyone seemed to know someone ITK who had shared the secret with them and knew somebody who had helped him pull off his 'disappearing trick'. Except me apparently. I think I would have noticed him if he had been staying at Laguna Park 1 or 2 where I was the DJ or if he was a regular in The Rum Pot or Bonkers Bar where I drank. Although there was a rather fat busker who worked the underpass near the Veronica's strip.
