Regardless of the rules, Phil Jones should be sent off every game on account of him being shit. How he’s in the World Cup squad is a mystery. A dreadful player.

If that was the criteria for a red card, every Small Heath match would be abandoned due to them having insufficient remaining players.

D_C you are not far off the truth. Whilst I am a committed republican and don’t particularly like the fuss over couple of people getting married today or any day I do like the carriages and those superb horses. That’s quite unique and we do it better than any other country. So I know some will say that is because we have a royal family and I am a hypocrite but there we are...

Sorry to say, for the first time in a good few years,  sat and watched the lot.   I could have wept.  I used to love the cup final even though we weren't in it but today it just upset me somewhat, perhaps it was just the fact that supporters of both clubs by seven-o-clock couldn't give a fuck as they knew that either next season or the following one they would be back to contest another final with the blasé attitude we'll win that one.  If it was us, and by some divine grace we won it, it would be indelibly etched into the brain never, ever to be forgotten as it is with me regarding 1957.

Just to go off the subject of the Cup final and on to the spate of recent sackings.  Am I the only one who finds it a bit strange that our fans were called fickle for having the temerity to voice displeasure when McLeish, Lambert and Sherwood had us hovering around the relegation zone, yet no such accusations are made towards Everton fans who hound out a manager that has guided them to 8th.

Based on the fact that they got bored Swith Moyes, deserted Martinez,  Koeman  not good enough for them and Fat Sam doesn't provide them with the entertainment they want, I trust any one offered an interview laughs at them and tells them where to get off. Small time  mentality of a club and a pit of a ground.

Hmmmm, I think there may have been criticism, they've certainly discussed it on the totally football and guardian podcasts.  Potentially this is a case of us reading and seeking much more about villa whereas we just skim the headlines about other clubs.

Allardyce being hounded out should be welcomed. He's a bloke with an over inflated opinion of himself preaching alehouse football who used the priviledged position of England manager to amass as much money as he could.

As for the Cup Final, I'd booked a meal so missed it but didn't miss much by all accounts. I'd have never missed the game years ago but the prospect of sitting through another pragmatic, negative PL style game was not in any way appealing.

And Mourihno's post match comments say it. Fuck him off with Allardyce.

Loved the reaction of the Frankfurt to their first trophy in 30 years and beating Bayern too. Imagine if we won the FA Cup.....the one I want to see us win more than any other. Ironically Frankfurt's manager moves to Bayern this Summer.

Talking of Cup Finals, 18 years ago today was my biggest disappointment as a Villa fan.

it’s a great old traditional ground and in my view far better than the new predictable bowl type stadiums I’ve been to

Goodison Park is pretty shabby these days and the view in the away end is terrible.

Talking of Cup Finals, 18 years ago today was my biggest disappointment as a Villa fan.

I broke a tooth that morning on a bacon butty, spent all morning trying to stop it bleeding, spent the afternoon at Wembley trying to drink away the pain, and the following two weeks having two root canals on it, after the first one failed. Cost me a flipping fortune, on top of the pain of watching us lose. And I can still feel the gentle hum of pain on it 18 years later.

Not that I'm bitter about that day at all.
