I realised in the second half I dislike Chelsea more than manure. Manure have always been big but Chelsea have won 90% of their trophies in the past 15 years

Ultimately it's not any different to us winning most of ours in a similar time frame, in part because we had more money than pretty much everyone else.

Our money came from ourselves and we also had the most visionary administrators of all time.

It's still not much different. Club with most money in wins lots of trophies shocker. We were also doing dodgy stuff back then like illegal payments and gamesmanship.

We did nothing illegal that any other club didn't and we had no outside funding source. We just had better people than anyone else.

I'm pretty sure doing something illegal even if other clubs were also doing it is still illegal. I'm just pointing out we weren't some paragons of Victorian virtue. We won because we had more money than most and of course had visionaries running us, visionaries that would do what it takes at times to ensure we were the best. Still doesn't sound a lot different to modern day clubs to me.

Was in pub wearing my 71 retro home shirt and this fella looked at the badge and he said "Nasty."
Why's that said I? "You were relegated" says he. Hmmm two years too late on that one. Then he went onto say we would lose to Fulham because Villa are a "pragmatic" side while Fulham are a decent Fulham side. I just responded by saying "We'll see."  Nope, Fulham will win reckons he. I responded by saying we have won last two home games against them. One says he. Nope, two I said, j should know I went to both of them. Wanker.

Sounds like he's about to begin on his journey of cognitive dissonance

Never heard a football team described as pragmatic before

That is a weird conversation. Great opening line by him though - at least it warned you he was a twat.

Dante as Iniesta did everything so naturally and elegantly do you think he will be able to coach those not as gifted?

Personally, I'm more inclined to believe the 10,000 hours thing than being born with natural talent, so on that basis I think anything can be learnt.  As an outsider, and with no invested interest, I think it would be excellent watching from afar and trying to see whether Iniesta can firstly deconstruct his skills and secondly work out, and have the personality, to teach "it".  Potentially great for the England team too.

It goes against my nature to stick up for United but I thought he made a genuine challenge for the ball as opposed to a cynical 'professional foul'. I thought a yellow card and a penalty was the right decision.

The interpretation of the rules was changed this season, so that the triple punishment (1. penalty, 2. sent off, 3. suspension) is only reserved for cynical offences, arguably like Johnson's on Tuesday, and not genuine attempts to win the ball which go wrong.  So you're right in my opinion.

Regardless of the rules, Phil Jones should be sent off every game on account of him being shit. How he’s in the World Cup squad is a mystery. A dreadful player.
