I thought it was twattish when our fans went on, before the game had finished. What if the ref had abandoned the game? No need to take that risk. I thought it was twattish when Shrewsbury fans ran on to have a go at the Charlton manager yesterday... even if it was Bowyer.

I've never had any problem with a good-natured pitch invasion. It makes it easier for me to get to the pub ahead of them and get a seat.

Not the result I was looking for, a Wembley front two of Weiman and Jerome would have seen our back four in carpet slippers and smoking jackets., Mitrovic is a proper handful though.

He does look good. He does seem the sort of player you could foul and kick and he’d get worked up and moody and do something stupid and play crap, so I’d be doing that if I was Chester and Terry when (!!!) we play them in the final.

Not the result we wanted. They looked a class above us at their place. That said, not sure that they are defensively the greatest. The thing is that we need enough control in midfield to try and then hurt them, and that isn't out strong point.

JT will wind Mitrovic up a treat.  He is prone to temper tantrums.  Fulham's midfield is very good and we would need to get really close to them.  If we get through tomorrow, that is!

I am actually happier that we would play Fulham in the final if we get through.

I think at this stage it could go either way with any team on the day, so I didn't particularly see us as more likely to beat Derby. I just know that if we lose, Derby have Rowett and Jerome, which would make losing to them more painful on our return, whereas Fulham were actually 3rd, and I've always quite liked them, so I'd find it at least a little easier to be philosophical and wish them well.

That said - I can't quite get my head around the fact that we have to do that thing we have just watched tomorrow, and hopefully again at Wembley in a couple of weeks. I have actually been through this process before but I had forgotten how nerve shreddingly horrible it is. I feel quite sick.

Derby ran out of legs early in the second half and front line of Jerome and the wee man . think they did well to get this far.

Fulham deserve their day at Wembley.

Another way of looking at it... Fulham more likely to treat it like a day out as they haven't been there since the sort of music I like was popular with the youth.

Fulham ain’t been to Wembley since 1975!!
That must be a record for a club that size.   Any stats on other biggish clubs absence from Wembley?

A total of two shots on target from Derby over the two legs. They can have no complaints.

It's strange how a few years in the Premier League can make a club seem bigger. I always thought of Fulham as the archetypal second/third division team, a sort of southern Barnsley.

Me too. I can just about cope with big games if I have a couple of pints beforehand but I drive to Villa Park so am stone cold sober with undiluted nerves.

Thankfully my flight lands at 2.30pm, which means I'll have nothing to do for most of the afternoon but sample Birmingham's whiskey supply...

Fulham are good, that’s true but Derby lay down for them tonight. Grade A bottlers.
