They were at home !! When I was in the Beatles museum, I was only one a few English folk in there, that must be a huge draw for the city.

I work with Norwegians and Swedish and they pretty much all support Liverpool - it's passed down apparently from their parents. I even was in Alesund for the Chelsea Liverpool cup match and 2 Norwegian guys had a fight over the 2 teams - bizarre. Having lived on the Wirral for 12 years I could never stomach the holier than thou, funnier than anyone but a word against us and we'll have a national campaign galled me -but then I'm just a jealous hater woolyback. I think the biggest constraint for Liverpool Council is the size of the city vs the income - it's massive and no longer got any major industry so is to be commended for its 'spirit'. If this were the blitz then they would come second to the sing a longa cockneys. But it's modern day so they win the post blitz best together against all odds 'a new shopping centre and a few capitalist hotels makes a world of difference' award.  Ok I'm rambling.

I hope Liverpool get stuffed. Absolutely, completely and utterly fucking mullered.

I detest them. I also want all English clubs to be shit in Europe. Unless it's Burnley, I don't begrudge them a day out.

I hope Liverpool get stuffed in every game they ever play. The whole media bollocks that follows them around just grates; the BBC always have red-tinted glasses on too.

So yes, they can fuck right off.
And here was me thinking that Scousers had massive chips on their shoulders .......yours must be the size of the Pennines :)
I can't help but think that the vitriol against Liverpool written on here is borne out of prejudice, hate, jealously or childishness - just my opinion like ......and if you don't like my opinion you can FRO
:) :)  see you all at Wembley in a few weeks - you won't miss me I will be the guy with a moustache, curly hair and wearing a shell suit

Thanks Clive, nice of you.

Why would I be prejudiced? Why hate? Jealousy of their success in the 80s, yep a little. Childishness, perhaps.

No chip on my shoulder though.

I'm not quite sure why you're suddenly developing a love-in with Liverpool, I always thought it was the blue half of that city you followed?

Do you like every team out there? Do you want every other team to win? Because forgive me but it can't happen.

Not much of a giveaway as they didn't follow it but started the line below.

now that really is semantic :)

Not really, I assumed your smilies were to do with Wembley as they started that sentence.

Ah, me too.

I've not watched a European Cup final since it was moved from a Wednesday night.

The magic disappeared.

That's a very good point. The moment they moved it for Saturday night telly it became as prestigious as Blind Date or The Generation Game. They may as well swap the big-eared cup for a canteen of cutlery and a teasmaid.

I thought you were talking about Gary Lineker and then realised it was "cup" you'd written.

Re their kop end, I couldn't believe how small it was when I was in there for the European championships X number of years ago. My vote is that anything L'pool can f-ck off!

Standing at the Anfield Road end in the '70s, it was hard to understand the media b******* about them being the 'friendliest' supporters.

Except that the move to Saturday night has made it easier for fans to travel to the game.

I'm sure that's exactly why they did it.

I agree, they couldn't give a shit, but it has had that reasonable side-effect.

Well I'm glad, I hadn't considered the impact on the travelling fans. Maybe I should work for UEFA.

And to help fans who are overwhelmingly likely to come from Spain, Italy, England or Germany they hold it in easy to get to places like Kiev and Moscow.

They should make this one easy for the Liverpool fans and hold it in Oslo.
