Mark Hughes is all set to emulate Billy McNeill. Stoke and Southampton both will be relegated.

Not sure about Southampton, having Charlie Austin back is a major boost for them. Along with Albion, reckon it will 2 from Stoke, Saints and Huddersfield.

Not a good season for stripeys!

A few weeks back all the trapdoor-threatened clubs were stripeys - the above, plus Newcastle, Palace and Bournemouth.

Teams in stripes are generally rubbish anyway. Last team to win the top division wearing stripes was Sunderland in 1936.

In England. That rule doesn’t really hold true in Italy and Spain for example where winning in stripes is rampant.

Don't forget Ron Saunders beat Billy McNeill to that dubious honour by twelve months when Small Heath and Smethwick both went down. Although I'm pretty sure that someone on Talksport today said Hughes would be the first manager to take two teams down from the top flight in one season. I'm pretty sure they didn't qualify their statement by saying 'Premier League' instead of 'Top Flight'.

I have only just found out that Bayern beat Dortmund 6-0 yesterday. Also, apparently the new Dortmund manager was previously at the club adrift at the bottom of the Bundesliga.

Nice to see a Villa legend on MOTD2. And also Cahill's goal against sha at the end.

I don't particularly care for Man City and their human rights abusing owners. But... nothing in football is more disgusting than a walk to Old Trafford on match day. It's skin crawling and piss boiling.

So if you're a long time Man City fan and you thought winning the title in the last seconds of the last game was the best way to win the league, then you were wrong.

I see (DVB) Rowett has seemingly worked some magic after they got hammered at home t'other night. They're currently leading 1-0 at PNE..

I note with interest the complete lack of interest in the scores this afternoon.

It all seems so irrelevant now. The only thing that matters is the form in the play-offs which are still a few weeks away.

we haven't made the play offs yet so form now is kind of ...important?
