This is shaping up to be the most objectionable FA Cup for some time. Spurs have home advantage for the rest of the competition, the mutual loathing between fans and manager that is Newton Heath, not to mention their shit football. Conservative, cowardly perenial under achiever Hughes in a semi final and now likely to be joined by fuckin' Chelsea. All via four of the least entertaining QF's I can remember.

I didn't even know it was quarter-final 'day' until I saw the scores late last night. It used to be the time when the cup got serious and Villa got beat; now it's an afterthought.

Another competition ruined by commercialism and greed.

For me its been ruined by the clubs having "other priorities" and not taking it seriously

Albrighton has been superb, great delivery on crosses and work rate tracking back. Another stupid decision under the Lerner / Lambert era to release him on a free. Didn't even offer him a deal. He's a Villa fan at heart...

Leicester-Chelsea has been a pretty enjoyable game.

Leicester winning the whole thing would be the best result for the competition. They've never won it.

I had totally forgotten about the prospect of extra time and penalties until the two commentators just mentioned it.

Of course the fact that Mark Hughes is now back in a competition he had already been knocked out of allows the pundits to point out to us his FA cup record as a player. Which is amusing as his record as a manager happens to be FA.

It would appear that Matt Sammerface's fancy new 'heated coat' has wound up his Talksport colleagues Danny Murphy and Joey Barton judging by their comments about it this weekend.

Proper old style penalties or have we got that new fangled ABBA penalty system in place today?

Oh well, doesn't look like penalties now anyway.

Pedro has gone full Cantona on the corner flag with a flying karate kick to celebrate his goal.
