Because their media chums talk them up and give them good publicity whilst if you take a chance on anyone else they're given much less time and are questioned from the get go immediately cranking the pressure up on them.

Not sure many others would do better at Stoke than 9th, 9th, 9th, 13th. It all went to crap for them this season but that happens to most managers.

Savage obviously had the heads-up on this as he was adamant it would happen a few days ago

The amount of jobs he's suggested his hero for he was bound to get it right once.

Once you get on the merry-go-round it's harder to be out of work than find another job.

Possibly the weakest ever penalty given in the Arsenal game.

If it was the other way around the commentators would be up in arms. Let’s call it here and now Welbeck is a cheat.

Come on Tony looking all this in the media (from his mates)
Great Manager unlucky to get sacked at Stoke.
Understands what's needed and will do it.
He has shed load of Premier League experience.
He is all Southampton.
He managed at Man city so this will not phase him.
Played for them understands the club ethos.
He is the only one who could save them.
Big man big player ex Manu what more can you ask for.

On the Beeb, the SAM prediction for the Wolves v Burton game is

Home win 86% Draw 9% Away Win 5%

I dont think that I have ever seen the odds that high for a win. Though I think that they are a bit low at 86%...

I'd imagine they've been higher when, say, Germany were hosting San Marino.

Liverpool v Man City sounds good. They've got five European Cups between them.

VAR to be used at World Cup. I pity the poor bastard that has to explain it to Jonathan Pearce.

They would probably have been a lot higher some time ago, when for example a team from the old first division were at home in the FA Cup to a non-league side.
