Gary Neville would fit right in contributing on our Match Thread.

For some strange reason I can't find one iota of sympathy for Arsenal being stuffed at Wembley.

Trophy presentations at Wembley used to be a well-respected big deal, but Man City have just lifted theirs to a 70% empty stadium. Including about 3 people in those bonded seats that the FA idiotically placed opposite the camera position and under the (what I call) Royal Box.

I enjoyed listening to Neville laying into Arsenal.

Neville is brilliant at ranting. It is also usually a well thought out and insightful rant. And he can rant at Manchester United as vociferously as he does at any other team. I'm not sure about him as management material but with the right manager I reckon he would be a great number two. I think the manager would have to be the good cop in the partnership.

I won a few quid today. I had Spurs, Cardiff, Celtic, United and City all to win in a 7/1 acca and in five other separate bets went for each of them to win 2-1. Even with United being the only one to do so, at 7/1 it still gave me a profit on the correct score bets too.

Be funny if it ended up us and Cardiff going up wouldn’t it?

I work in an office infested with Dingles, so if that happened it would be like Christmas coming early.

What did he say?

Basically what a disgrace they were, defence was laughable, likes of Ramsey, Ozil and Xhaka walking about as play goes on around them and what a shambles Arsenal are. He wasn’t wrong and it’s nice to hear an ex player who is not afraid to say exactly what he’s thinking.

Assume you’re referring to Neville, mercilessly tore into Arsenal. One description was “pathetic”.Picked out individuals too. Just look at our match thread first half yesterday. Like that it was.

You don't expect match threads to be full of reasoned, objective comments do you Bren'd?

Amongst the vitriol and wrist slitting there are a few reasoned objective comments. Not many mind. However, Neville today, minus the swearing let rip pretty much like it was yesterday. Amused me it did.

It was by far the best thing about that game. There’ll be a few Arsenal fans secretly agreeing with him while outwardly accusing him of Manc bias.

Arsenal reminded me of That Cup Final. Shudder.

I'm sure that Neville was pissed off at Arsenal because they allowed the less beloved blue half of Manchester win it without much effort.

Equally, Arsenal fans need to be careful what they wish for!
