Keeper dies after collision with another player

Now that's a tragedy. RIP fella. Sounds Ike a real gentleman as well.

Absolutely. The last few lines of that article make it even more sad, if that's possible.

Very sad. In 1931 a Celtic goalie John Thomson died in an old firm game following an accidental collision with the Rangers forward Sam English.

On a local level in 1967 Tony Allden of Highgate United was killed by lightning whilst playing in the quarter final of the F A Amateur cup. The rearranged game was played at Villa Park watched by a crowd of 30,000.

Did an ex-Villa keeper not die. Played for us a few times in the late 60/ or early 70s?

FA Cup First Round draw (local ties):

Newport County vs Walsall
Forest Green vs Macclesfield
AFC Fylde vs Kidderminster
Shrewsbury vs Aldershot
Hereford vs Telford
Coventry vs Maidenhead
Cheltenham vs Maidstone or Enfield
Solihull Moors or Ossett vs Wycombe

Pretty boring.

Albion have taken 1300 to Leicester tonight. Tinpot bastards. They've just sung 'pride of the Midlands we know what we are' without a hint of irony aswell. They're also playing a Midlands team who won the Premier League two seasons ago.

And so far it’s a really really boring game funnily enough. Let’s face it they’re unbearable to watch.

The Albion players can probably hear Pulis' incessant bellowing in their sleep.  Bruce's football is like Brazil 1970 compared to what Pulis serves up.

With the exception of Southampton the rest was absolutely dire, although in fairness The Dingles did look good

The Milan derby was a corker. A million times better than this shit or Liverpool Man Utd.

European games on Sunday evening.

Inter Milan 3-2 AC Milan
Strasbourg 3-3 Marseille
Real Betis 3-6 Valencia

Was flicking between the three as they were all on at the same time. ;)

The Betis game was a corker. Looked dead and buried, then a great last 10 minutes.

When I was a kid somebody in the family had an album of Celtic songs and the John Thomson Song was a tribute to said keeper. Apparently a colossal turnout from both sides for the funeral cortège.
