Never mind Sky,BBC are all over it on radio and tv .Is it the biggest game in the uk,what makes it special, wheeling out ex-players from both sides;jeez,it's almost how the fa cup final used to be treated.

Yeah but it’s not the FA Cup final, it’s a league game nothing more.

My hope, against hope, is that this is the most boring 0-0 ever.

I would only ever watch this if the rules were changed so that both teams could lose in a single match.

The Mancs will set themselves up to make sure they don't lose - put my TV and Radio on it.

Which would be silly as Liverpool's defence is terrible and you could easily see Man Utd scoring at least two if they have a go.

I briefly held on to a momentary hope that that Roy Castle-esque sport presenter on Breakfast was going to surprise everyone with mention of the world's oldest league derby.

That'll learn me.

Back in the eighties and nineties when Villa and Liverpool were England's two most trophied clubs I don't recall honours ever being mentioned when we met in televised games.  The hype and nonsense about this fixture is totally down to the media.

I do not know anyone that gives a shit other than Man U and Liverpool fans, and even then it is less important to them than Liverpool v Everton or Man U v Man City. Load of old bollocks.

It seems that Sky's hype levels are inversely proportionate to the the entertainment value.
