As good as anyone we could have drawn.  Would like to think that under Bruce we will be more ready for them than we were for Luton last season under RDM.  Always strange playing a cup game this early, but I do think losing to a side a couple of divisions down from us could knock our confidence a bit.  So lets just win to avoid any unwanted early season drama ;)

When you think in the first games of last season we essentially played four strikers up front, two in wide positions you can't help but think we'll be a bit more settled at the start of this one. I hope.

There have been some pathetic performances over the last few years, Luton was definitely up there. Particularly Richards.

Come on, this used to be our competition.
Five times we've won it, time to make it six.

What a pick up it would be just to toast some easy victories

I'd tweak the side a bit and give the likes of Samba, Bjarnnson, Onomah and Green a start.

No away guide for this one, fair enough, where will people be gathering before the game does anyone know?   I should be there from about 5/6 onwards.

Away guide on this Twitter feed, suggested pubs are a few Tweets down. Sounds like Villa will be welcome anywhere in the centre.
