Looks like The Beard will be playing CB tomorrow

I'd be a bit concerned by that, TBH.

Going there in an emergency during a game is one thing. Less time to think and you just get on with it.

Lining out as a CB this week in training and then starting a game can be a different story. He looks like he has most of the attributes to be a centre half, in fairness.  But there must be a reason why he has played central midfield for most of his career.

That said, a choice of him or Mad Tom/ Richards and it is the beard every time. Just hope it doesn't knobble us in central midfield again.

I think we're going to win which is bad news. It's rare these days when I actually think we're going to win, and when I do we usually lose. So a bit of reverse psychology, 5-0 to Wigan.

We could be just 11 points off the play-offs with a win and the right results. It couldn't , could it?

No.  There are only 8 games left after today.  If we win today, we'd then need to win the next 4 in a row to close that gap, whilst hoping that none of Sheffield Wednesday, Fulham, Preston, Norwich, Derby or Barnsley pick up too many points as well.  Not going to happen, and I would imagine that we probably won't even get close.

If anyone reading this is heading up there, I suggest a pie barm

It's a meat and potato pie in a bap / cob / barm / bread cake

I don't think it's part of the Atkins diet

On the way and looking forward to the game, if not the food from the descriptions here.

Yep I reckon at least 3 of those will get more than the maximum 75 points we can muster. We just need to be aiming for top 10 with 65+ points and a good ending to the season. If we'd beaten Huddersfield it would be on but we didn't so time to relax and stop stressing about it.

Looking forward to a proper pie by the Station at Dewhursts, followed by some scoops.

As for the match, if we can't win this one away then the players really do need their arses kicking.  Saying that we are Villa so take nothing for granted

Normally a game me and VCTM jnr would be attending but things aren't great at the minute - I am currently struggling with my health and am unemployed whilst junior is recovering after taking a hiding in Seaforth following the big fight two weeks ago !!
I hope you and the other 4.5K Villa fans have something to sing about .
Regards to a fellow Mersey Villan

PS - Risso - I would have liked to have met up tomorrow but the above info alludes to the reason for my absence from a "local game"

Cheers lads !

Ah bloody hell Clive, hope things pick up health wise for you soon mate, and that things improve on the job front too.  I was going to try to get over for this, but having just moved house, things are still a bit frantic and up in the air here.  We must meet up next time I'm over mate.  Hope VCTM jnr is OK, sounds nasty.

After preston most anticipated game of the season for me.  That ended in tears.  Really looking forward to being with the 4 and half thousand. Weather here has been shocking...so don't expect a game for the purist

Is Nil Lamptey fit for this one? Hopefully BFR will play him at some stage.

I went to both of those games.  I'd just moved to Wigan and lived about 5 minutes away from their old Springfield Park ground.  I was convinced that Lamptey was going to be, if not the new Pele, then certainly the new Tony Daley.
went to a match at Highfield Rd where he was paraded round the pitch before the game with, I think if my memory is correct, brian Lara, and there were high hopes of him. That worked out well eh? Dodgy Ron brown envelope / mortorway services job with him I reckon.
