Any lone striker has to be able to lay the ball off swiftly and alway be in the box for chances, JK seems great at both but doesn't seem to want to do it.

He's by far our best forward but a complete enigma, I'm not as worried about losing him at the end of the season as I should be, I don't think a prem team would fancy him.

A few points from yesterday.

I thought Wednesday were the better team until Baker went off.  Bruce made a very good tactical decision to go 4-4-2 to match them in midfield and avoid bringing on Elphick.  From that point on we were very comfortable and it had the feel of a routine day at the office.  Something we haven't witnessed for 5 years.

Kodija delights and frustrates in equal measure.  The only player we have who can score goals, but equally makes some bad/odd decisions.

I actually thought Rhodes looked OK and could see why Bruce might have wanted him to lead the line.  Will be interesting to see what Hogan has to offer in comparison and how he fits alongside Kodija.

The positive thing is, we can start to see the wood for the trees in terms of the players who will be key next season - and those who need replacing.

Can any of you who were at the game tell me what sort of size was the Wednesday defender that was supposed to be marking Kodjia for his first goal?  The reason I ask is, Kodjia seemed to be head and shoulders above him to win that header with what seemed like consummate ease and, if the defender was six foot plus then it makes the goal even better.
Wednesday defenders were normal 6 footers. Watching from Witton End high up it was a Bentekesque leap he seem to jump about 2 feet above everyone else. I am very pleased about his two headed goals recently especially after I had a word with him about his ability in that department before he went to Afcon.

Two cracking assists yesterday, another one for the much aligned Adamoah!

I think the alignment of Adomah is justified.

I'd have been disapppinted if that was our defender

I think kodjia has generally looked best with a more physical striker

Him and hogan could work - e.g. Both running the channels. But it's not the most obvious partnership for me

Still would really like to see us try a diamond. Hourihane and Lansbury look tailor made for those shuttle positions on either side of Jedinak; and I reckon that's where we'd see the best of grealish too. In a number 10 position behind two strikers

I think overall Adomah has been ok. He has his limitations and needs to add goals to his game but I think he's done alright.

Jedinak comes back and we concede 3 goals in six games
No coincidence.

Its weird how a player as average (with passes and especially headers that can go anywhere) as Jedi is so vital to Villa

9 assists this season - second only to Hourihane with 13 now, in the whole league according to The Times.

I don't care about stats - his overall contribution to the team is very poor
