I want us to be swigging Champagne and calling Ipswich, Liverpool, and Bayern fans wankers.

I've heard their managers comments and also read their forum and they bemoan missing chances. Did I miss something? Other than Rhodes sticking one a yard wide and Winnall making Johnstone make a save after Chester gave the ball away, I cannot recall anything else of note all game.

Wednesday looked like what I've thought they were everytime I've seen them; very average.

No pace up top, can see why Bruce didn't one Rhodes.

Enjoyed the game, a bit disjointed first half but looked much better shape wise when baker went off and i would have jedi starting at centre half

Had a bit of luck, they looked toothless and as for bannan bossing the midfield it means fuck all when you are on the halfway line

Onwards and upwards

Rhodes spent virtually the whole game in the pocket of a defensive midfielder playing as a makeshift centre half. He didn't make any clever runs or do anything to suggest he's anything more than a bog standard Championship player.

They looked the better team to start with but once we settled we always looked the most likely to score. Credit to the players and management to get the result despite so many injuries, I put it down to outfoxing them with our innovative 4 full back system.

Jedinak very good at centre half. Won a lot in the air when they went fairly direct.

Although disappointing to see us not press the advantage when a man up with Fletcher coming on for them can see why Elphick came on to keep things tight.

If he didn't want to sign him, putting a transfer bid in for him is a funny way to show it!

If we'd have wanted him, we'd have got him.

He was massively unimpressive.

Put it this way. Boro can't score any goals but still thought Rudy Gestede was a better bet at Premier League level. Hogan looks a much better prospect.

The type of performance I expected more of when we bought Bruce in, defensively solid, hardworking, dull.

We looked pretty comfortable all the way through and whilst Weds were neat and tidy they were always playing that pretty stuff in front of a solid, disciplined set up.

I questioned the Baker substitution thinking why have two CBs on the bench and not use them, but it worked well and Hutton was again terrific.

Think we missed Lansbury, GG was very ponderous and lacked attacking ambition, very unimpressed by Amarvi. Lots of 7/10 performances.

Progress.

Undoubtedly on both counts. But it's wrong to say Bruce didn't want him.

He didn't want to spend £12m on him. He was more than happy to spend north of £6m on him.

I have to say that watching a few highlights and fan;s views has confirmed something that I've thought for a while. We really do have the ugliest fans in the world.

Outside of honest graft, it's difficult to see why Weds and Huddersfield are so high up the table, it's also bloody annoying.
