Terrible illness this and my heart bleeds for all relatives of sufferers. As for Billy I know he was a great player and a fantastic captain for Celtic so that's how I would like to remember him.

As the gentleman above says.  I wish him well.  A great footballer and seemingly another victim of heading heavy footballs.

Sad news, can't say I have fond memories of his time at Villa but my thoughts are withholding and his family.

That is so sad, regardless of his tenure at AVFC. Best wishes to him and his family

My Grandad suffered from this awful illness and it is truly heartbreaking to see someone  you love gradually and cruelly taken away from you.  Best wishes to Billy and his family.

I keep banging the drum for the wonderful Sporting Memories charity as i'm sure many of you are aware, if you haven't seen this short film about an elderly gent with dementia who had quite a story to tell then this is well worth a watch. He only got to tell his story thanks to their work.

A certain member of the H&V collective will be donning his lycra as part of a team riding the Tour de Yorkshire should anybody wish to sponsor them as they try to raise much needed funds to start more projects nationwide.
