When was the last time we started a season so badly? Giles and Troughton have their work cut out.

I think it's time we went out and signed a couple of Kolpak batsmen to strengthen the squad, we are playing catch up in the Championship and so far have looked pretty ordinary in white ball Cricket.

When you lose to Leicestershire, you start to worry.

Bears have announced this this morning 3 month contracts to Grant Thornton & Mitch Spencer. We have already seen Thornton in the TV game at Northants
and the loss at home to Durham.

George Dobell has written that Warks have made an approach to Tom Kohler Cadmore.

Can't see Pears letting him go...is his contract up soon?

I tend to listen to what George Dobell says so possibly an element of truth to it.

I think it is one of those peculiar to cricket 28 day approaches.

Mr Dobell is indeed a fine writer, in a sport that seems to have an abundance of excellent journalists.

Bairstow and Root have found some form today at Headingley against Durham, partnership of 185 for the second wicket with Bairstow 171 not out

Presume he is up at end of season, everything there to be a v good county batsman, hasn't yet pushed through consistently like Joe Clarke has.

Chris Woakes 3/18 off 4 in KKR's latest game.

Still lost mind.

He's now the second highest wicket taker this year. This guys turnaround in his career has been a joy to watch. And by all accounts a genuinely nice guy.

Only trouble us, I doubt you'll see him at all this season for the Bears....

What I can't fathom is, apart from maybe Trott and Hain, they're all performing well below par with bat and ball. Even Jeets looks ordinary.
It's as if Randy Lerner has turned up at the club!

Good recovery from Pears/Rapids last night to keep up unbeaten record with a tie, from 199/8 to 277 was excellent lower order batting to give a target to defend....
