Found in the back of a St Petersburg shop...
« on: February 19, 2017, 09:13:09 PM »
I found these hidden down the back of a souvenir shop in St Petersburg (click on photo to get a better look)...

Although they all look like Paul McGrath to me, they are in fact David O'Leary era players. They have their names on the back, I'll turn them around and upload another photo...

The good ol' days -when Craig David and Jasper Carrott's mate Robert Powell played for the Villa.

The smallest two are obviously their bastard offspring.

The players revealed (again click on photo for a better view).
Interesting choice of players from that era by the craftsmen of Russia, at least the little one is a legend.

I'm struggling to remember Solano's goatee...

From an old thread, here's mine

I reckon this is pretty unique in the novelty tat stakes, a mate bought it me when he was in the Czech Republic, not surprisingly the main doll is Baros. The rest are Angel, Sorensen, Mellberg and Barry.

I was just going to post that when we were in Prague about 4-5 years ago, there was a shop on the main drag from the Old Town Square to the Charles Bridge that sold those.  I took a photo of them, will see if I can fnd it.

They did a better job on your Mellberg. Apparently Solano and Hendrie were much bigger house-hold names in Russia than Baros and Barry.

Still gathering dust back on that St Petersburg shop shelf are a set of Sam Allardyce era Bolton Wanderers dolls.
