11 games gone and we're already 8 points off the 2 points per game target.

Out of those 11 games, we've played 5 of the bottom 6 and even in those games, we haven't averaged 2 points per game.

Bruce will turn up in championship sometime too respected a manager not too unless he holds on for a regulation threatened premier league club..

Or takes over a relegated prem team next season in championship

Championship wise I could see reading or ironically Preston could be his move . Don't know if Preston could afford him ?

In mean time having a break and some nice pundit work radio and tv will keep him going.

I think he may be able to relax a bit and enjoy some down time.  Maybe a bit of fitness again !

All the best Brucie.
Thanks for the play off final
The beating of wolves and your clear appreciation of being Aston villa manager .
I'm not going to refer to him ever again now unless villa come up against him somewhere
Good bye

Litigation costs appear to be excluded however, so paying a contract off that we've breached, I.e. Bruce and the gang, ought to be excluded.

It would would therefore more expensive to give a manager notice on his contract than to sack him, as the former doesn't appear excluded.

Do you think as part of his settlement he'll be excluded in managing in championship this season

On what grounds could we sack him though?

Villa have already stated that the contracts have been terminated so you would assume that they will have paid them up.

I've just realised that there are a few similarities with Big Ron's sacking, back in '94. 1-3 up at Wimbledon. Andy Townsend sent off and the game ending in a 4-3 defeat.

Only a few in the media are switched on and have got it right, Percy and Liam Rosenior are a couple who have called it spot on. All the others have spouted the usual shit; proper football man, promotion expert, too soon to sack him, because he's ex Blues the fans wanted him gone.

It isn't too soon, it's five months too late. The day after the play off final we should have said "thanks Steve but you failed your remit for the season" and he should have gone then. If we'd got a decent manager in in the summer I genuinely believe we'd be top two now. There's no guarantees in football but you couldn't have chosen an easier start and he's made a royal mess of it.

His sacking was always going to end with clueless pundits who haven't really noticed Villa now that we're not in the Premier League, lazily regurgitating tired cliches.  They'll have heard other people mentioning the 4 promotions, and that's as much as most of them know.

His defence was lined up long before he was fired. Bruce would no doubt have been talking to them along the way about just how tough he had it, and he was setting out his stall publicly in the last few months after each miserable game. It’s not a shock that he’s being defended by certain media mates. Frankly, a greater fuck I could not give. If they had paid attention to us at all they’d know it was the right decision. We had become a disorganized, useless, tactical inept mess.

I hope not.
I would like to see him managing a club with a far smaller budget. How would he cope at Brentford if Smith moved on or at strugglers like Hull,Preston and Ipswich if their managers got binned ?
I don't think it would be pretty.

That's pretty much it, and I wish the other journalists would listen to this.
They all seem to be going on about Steve losing his parents and us Villa fans being terrible in our behavior..we were very understanding of his loss, and only a few, very embarrassing toilet mouthed idiots were insulting. For the rest of us, we have seen very little football under him, and as nice a man as he is, we do not pay to listen to him, we pay to watch good football!
All the best Brucey, lets move on and employ someone with vision, coaching ability and motivation
