I seem to have deleted a bit of the quote code, so it looks like you posted that in 1974! Apologies.

I would say that they have a clear plan about replacements; with a quick turnaround on bringing them in. Otherwise, they might well have kept someone like Agnew as interim.
I'm guessing they'll announce tomorrow that the replacements will start work next Monday.

I am banking on a manager from the Mendes stable that will play expansive football and we will start tearing up the division - all shall fear us!!!

Attack the Holte end in the first half, hear the roar !!!   Fortress Villa park !!!

“Aston Villa Football Club can confirm that manager Steve Bruce and his assistants Colin Calderwood, Steve Agnew, Stephen Clemence and Gary Walsh are leaving their posts with immediate effect after having their contracts terminated. The process to appoint a new manager is under way.

A Club statement issued on behalf of the Board said:“We would like to place on record our gratitude to Steve and his team for their hard work and commitment. We wish them well for the future.

“The process of recruiting a new manager has begun. In the meantime, Kevin MacDonald, Aston Villa U23s manager, will be in charge of the team for our trip to Millwall on Saturday.”

Ah how sweet that reads, like a Benjamin Zephaniah poem set to the music of Sabbath.

We'll probably have to sell Jack in January to pay for the cost of sacking this lot or get the full points deduction next season and end up in League 1. 100% Brummy, me.

Well looks like we can write off the Millwall game with KMac in charge, when we cant afford to lose any more

Knowing us we'll probably win!

He should never have been appointed and when he was appointed, he should have been sacked at the end of the first season. That’s based solely on his style of football which was never going to be good enough for us. So at long last he’s gone, better late than never. For me he’s taken us backwards and the new guy has got a lot of work to do. Please Villa, get it right this time, no quick fix, we need to build for the Premier League now not when we get there. As much as I dislike Bruce’s football and his philosophy, and I really couldn’t care if he’s a nice guy or not, he definitely didn’t and dosnt deserve the the personal insults that I’ve seen on here and heard at games. It’s totally wrong

Thierry Henry has been installed as the bookmakers’ favourite to replace Bruce as Villa boss.

Villa fan Dean Smith is among the early frontrunners while former boss Martin O’Neill is at 16s.

Full odds

Thierry Henry 5/2 (fav)

Sam Allardyce 3/1

Dean Smith 6/1

Mick McCarthy 6/1

Alan Pardew 8/1

Nigel Pearson 10/1

Carlos Carvalhal 11/1

Martin O’Neill 16/1

What bookie, mate? I can't find any offering odds yet.

Edit: never mind, I've since found it... everywhere!

It sounds to me like they have someone lined up and were planning the change in the International week.  Last night's result and the toxicity it was brewing have hastened their need to act quickly.

I hope so anyway.
