Alex Neil concentrate on your own job. You have a shite team that was very lucky to not lose last night despite our inadequacies. Prepare for relegation.

It doesn't matter what it is - if it's thrown at someone and can cause harm, which this obviously can, it's a missile and throwing it is an offence. Good luck to anyone going Not Guilty on that one.

larf. well maybe if i was pelting it at someone from point blank range it could, or dropped if off the top of a 30 story building but lobbing it from the crowd? I doubt it.  I don't think they had cabbages in mind when they brought that rule in and if the lethal properties of root based vegetables were recognised, groups of cabbage-kitted-up hooiligans would have discovered it back in the 70's and 80's.

Paul, I simply felt it was over the top and unnecessary.  I think a few others did too.  That's it really.

See, over the top and unnecessary I can accept but that's not what you said before. It's the hyperbolic 'lack of class', 'vile personal abuse' and 'screaming in his face' responses that I have an issue with because none of that applies to what happened.

I’ve heard the cabbage growers across the country are furious about their crop being compared to Steve Bruce.

One thing I'd like to know is, post-Brexit who will pick our cabbages?

Your desire to micro analyse semantics is remarkable.

For what it's worth, I think screaming at someone from approx 10 ft as they walk towards / alongside you is pretty much screaming in their face.  I think calling someone a fat ****** in an aggressive / vitriolic manner is vile personal abuse and I think people who do so lack class.

You obviously think differently and that's fair enough.  I hope I've clarified my personal opinions, please have the grace to accept them without further analysis.

I would take no manager right now rather than Bruce. What’s the worst that can happen? In fact I bet it wouldn’t free up the side to play a more adventurous game.
I did offer before. Me and my mate Trig used to run a Sunday league team and once got  the lads promoted from Division 4 to Division 3. We would be willing to take over the Villa first team until a new manager can be found. I'm sure the fans would not see any difference on the pitch both tactically and results wise. Trig has to work every third weekend so I'd need a hand with the nets.

What would people find more threatening personally? A man screaming abuse in your face or a man holding a vegetable with a determined glint in his eye?

I see Kendrick has written an article today stating that Bruce needs to go. He usually toes the line carefully so interesting that he’s taken up such a defined position.

It sounds like he’s been on here too.

I don't get the need for the personal abuse, screamed in the face, shouted from ten rows back or written on a message board. He's a football manager doing a not very good job, it's not like he's a Brexit voter stinking out the ICC (winky thing). His physical appearance and ability to nod away a cabbage have nothing to do with that. I'd rather Steve Bruce was at Villa Park next game than someone who thinks it's okay to chuck something at him, and I'm on the side of those who want Bruce replaced. Every time someone goes for the personal abuse it gives a diversion to what's going on with the team.

Maybe he was just being thoughtful with the cabbage and over the coming weeks was planning on chucking on some onions, tomatoes, cucumber, pitta bread, donner meat and some chilli sauce. We'll never know if he gets the chop!
That's why I'm thinking it would be a shame for Bruce to be sacked now as things could get very tasty.

Feeling like a nipper in the back of their parents' car on a long journey constantly asking the same question:

"Has he gone yet?"

What about custard pies, can you still throw them?

I think they would be fine but getting them into the ground under your jumper might be tricky.
