Ugh. Cabbage or not, he was the wrong guy for Villa. I can't wait for this era to end so we can get on with trying to re-establish ourselves. We've wasted two critical years.

He's won 7 of the last 21 league games and has us mid-table in division 2, insults us, lies in interviews, blames everyone but himself, throws anyone under the bus he can to save himself, is tactically inept, has poor game management and picks some of the bizarrest starting elevens i've ever seen. That anyone, be it fan or pundit, thinks he's the right man to manage us or is even a decent bloke surprises me.

He may be a lovely bloke away from football, but as a manager he's up there with Mr Fickle with his behaviour and comments etc.

You have to agree with bruce about society going to pot. I mean there's areas of Birmingham i won't set foot in anymore because of the dangers of vegatable related crime.  Friend had his car broken into last week and apart from the radio being nicked, he was more upset with having to clear up the cauliflower they used to smash the window.

Jim White has just announced that after the commercial break Talksport will be discussing "Steve Bruce, Aston Villa and cabbagegate".

Can guess exactly how that will go:  "poor old Brucey has done a great job there:

Kept them up in his first season when they could have been another Sunderland (garbage - inherited a decent enough squad and spent heavily and poorly that January.  Should have had a strong end to the season but limped home)

Got them to a play off final when he didn't have any money to spend in the summer (garbage - couldn't spend that much because he had blown loads in January on tat, but still brought in a number of experienced Premier League players on high wages.  Got shown up by Neil Warnock at Cardiff who had spent hardly anything).

He's not had a chance this season because of what happened in the summer and he lost six players (garbage - he shouldn't have even been here this season and it's only because of the upheaval that he still is.  He was given plenty of money to replace those who had left, but has again proved himself incapable of assembling a balanced squad).

He's done a good job there but the fans have never accepted him because he used to manage Birmingham.  It's a hard job at Villa because the fans are so demanding, look at the way they treated good honest lads like David O'Leary, Alex McLeish and Tim Sherwood.  They should just accept being mid-table in the Championship and be thankful they have an ex-Manchester United player managing them

Jim White then finishes by saying, "in the next hour, we will take some more calls by Manchester United fans moaning about them being near the top of the Premier League and in the Champions League.  They've got a right to be unhappy with how things are going at the moment".

We’ve been rubbish this season, we’ve won 3 games out of 11 for fucks sake. Bruce can have no complaints he’s done a terrible job. There’s no style of play, players in the wrong positions, and he’s constantly being tactical outthought. It’s a shambles.

Forget him rewriting last years history to suit - this sums up perfectly why he has to go

We've played 5 of the current bottom 6 this season and beaten 1 of them. I expect it will be 1 out of 6 after the weekend.

It's a funny old game...who would have thought it would take someone to throw a cabbage for the media attention to discuss all things shit at the Villa?

I am guessing the abuse bothers him less than losing his £3million a year though.
Bang on.

TalkShite up their usual defence just now.
Simon Jordan "This isn't an old boys club support, but..."
Apparently Brucie should puff his chest out and carry on.
We were unlucky; a bad decision against us and a missed penalty cost us, blah blah.

Found it interesting that he sounded far more antagonistic during the Talksport interview than he did during the one with WM.  Then I heard the voice of Tom Ross asking the questions and it clicked.

Just logged on. Can't believe he hasn't been sacked. His comments last night about the fans and our support are a disgrace. Please go now!

I’m guessing he’s not gone because he’s on such a big celery.

I don't condone the vile abuse or vegetable tossing, but at this point it is a reflection of the fans' frustration at the apparent lack of activity from the owners and ceo. Bruce should not be in this position in the first place, though he is partly culpable as he could also have resigned.

We need our AWOL senior execs to do their jobs and pull the trigger asap. I now expect them to do it after Saturday which is way, way too late for me. They are allowing a toxic atmosphere to develop and there may be fallout from the delay.

They've not won in four games at Old Trafford.

FOUR!!?!!
