Disappointed in Dean Saunders sticking up for Bruce on talk sport

Disappointed in you for listening to talksport. Hopefully Bruce is getting his cards right about now.

Considering how inept we've been so far, it shows how average the league is that we're not a million miles away from the top teams. This is why a change needs to happen in October before it's too late.

I think it's just a case of him being a ex-manager and going through it himself.

I thank Deano for all his endeavours at VP, but Christ, he's an awful pundit. Up there with Merse and Hendrie.

Darren Bent even worse saying it's Bruce being a former Birmingham manager that makes fans not taking to him.
And that fans need to be patient
And that we are only 2 points off and not like second bottom of league so he feels Bruce is still the man for the job!

Drives me mad people keep on about the play off final

Fuck the play off final, does he want it on our honors list? We lost the game and nearly fell in to financial ruin because of that failure.

Finishing 4th in the Championship is not an achievement if you've budgeted to finish 1st or 2nd. It's not that hard to understand.

Last night.

The Bench. 1 Keeper, 1 Defender, 1 Defensive Midfielder, 3 wingers, 1 Striker

We lose a defender and immediate, knee-jerk reaction was to take off a striker. I get it when the keeper goes off, a change is required but otherwise, cope, reorganize, and see what happens. With our potential, we could cause problems. Then, when we've lost the initiative and have no plan he takes off our other striker and puts on a winger. So they score again. Then he takes off a central midfielder (who was playing on the wing) to be replaced by defensive midfielder. And, because we're offering nothing up front, and have retreated quicker than a blink of an eye, we concede again.

After Kodjia was taken off we had our third (nay fourth if Steer is included) choice keeper, 4 Right Backs, 4 Central Midfielders and a winger up front. Utter, utter bollocks.

Some of the most bizarre management I've ever seen in 40 years of supporting the Villa. We need a divorce quickly.

The PM interview on TalkSport (read it, didn't actually hear it) was odd. He seemed to allude to Brett Kavanaugh (this bloke at the moment being asked all them questions, to paraphrase).

He's right about the abuse he gets on sites like Facebook though, it's a game FFS. Steve Bruce is not a c***. Adolf Hitler was a c***, Donald Trump is a c***, people who blow up kids are c**** etc etc, not Steve Bruce. The cabbage launch is also unacceptable - if somewhat, er, amusing.

Hendrie defending Bruce as well.

Maybe WE are in the wrong and all of these pundits are right.
Maybe we really are all unintelligent, wannabe managers who know fuck all about the game because we didn’t play it professionally.

We must be? Right?

If I’m honest, I don’t think that promotion is realistic this season now, whether Bruce stays or goes.  Granted, we’ve got a lot of talented individuals, but there’s no cohesion within the squad, no obvious spine to the team and we’re weak in too many crucial areas, Goalkeeper and Centre-backs being the obvious one. I don’t doubt that somebody could come-in and improve us pretty much instantly, in terms of line-up, tactics and coaching, but to get us promoted somebody needs to come-in and change the whole mentality of this squad. Yes, Bruce is hugely to blame for how we approached the game after Chester got sent-off last night, but similarly a Terry or even a Snodgrass on that pitch would have been willing the team to stop retreating and try to keep possession, gain territory, etc.  There was not one player in that line-up who showed even an ounce of in-game-management last night and that is a huge worry.

The issue we have going up is that we have no defence - poor keepers and no CH's. This is Bruce's undoing as we can only play the tactic of outscoring the opposition i.e. being positive and going for the throat. This is polar opposite to how Bruce sets up his teams

When he made the first sub after the red card, I didn't think anything of it as it is normally strikers who get hauled off in situations like that but then I remembered there were 4 midfielders on the pitch. Having thought about it, I'm still not sure who the right person to come off would have been. Possibly Hourihane I suppose. It was just the way we collapsed that was the most shocking thing.

All the press coming out to defend him.....the Bloos connection, the play-off, the penalty....

Why don't they mention - one Centre half, not playing wingers, 1 clean sheet, poor keepers....?
