I disagree, he was destroyed in the air in the second half tonight as he was v Blackburn. I think he is a thoroughly average defender and exactly what we didnt need this season. Reminds me of a young Micah Richards in that his pace gets him out of trouble, trouble of his own making generally.

Elphick was no world beater but letting him go without an experienced replacement was lunacy.

We've had some tactically inept managers at Villa Park over these last 18 years but nobody comes close to Bruce for his complete and utter lack of knowledge of the game.
