Is there anyone left who is prepared to defend him ?
It seems that most have now decided it’s time for him to go.

Two years ago we took a battering from Bristol and things looked pretty bleak. Last night you could see with W bit of tinkering we are a much better side than the likes of Bristol and on the face of it he is right we should have won.  The problem is the fans still turned on him so there is now only one possible outcome. I have been one for giving him a chance not least because he didn’t have the time to get all of the players he wanted, but I have now turned

I may be clutching at straws, but may be when a new DOF comes in, he will be gone. His demeanour does seem to have changed since his back room staff have gone, he's very defensive, putting out the same old sound bites, he sounds like a man who knows his fate, but this could be straw clutching.

If he doesn’t win on Tuesday I think he will be gone. We cannot afford not to win but half of me is hoping we don’t.  Probably best to just not watch it!

I think we'll win on Tuesday but lose at Millwall as our recent record there is poor.

4 points from 9 is barely good enough for top 6 so another reason to change.

I'm not sure you can say two matches, 5 and a half years apart and 30 years on from the third game down there is really a sample to say we have a poor record.

I don't care if we win both and put 5 on them, his time is up.

Both are bottom 3 and both ought to be beaten. 4 points is probably the best we'll do.

O.k it's just an away ground I just don't fancy us on, same with our useless run at Selhurst Park over last 30 years.

Only 6 points will save him imo and I don't see us getting that with the away fan reaction last night. Di Matteo had similar at Preston.

Which would then make it 5 from 9, including two away games.
How could they possibly sack him after that?

Into the next international break with him still here is just demoralising.

The Steve Bruce Bingo cards are genius. Gonna play that with the family later and practice our impressions, hopefully wearing nan hair wigs. You know it’s time when the humour comes out like this, such as celebrating getting a corner at Watford.

I think a new DOF buys him more time
same as the new owners did same as the new CEO did, they come in and take stock,

he's still hanging on because of timing
no DOF will come in and sack him on day one unless he's been told to do so in which case they might as well do it before they bring someone in

new people in the top jobs just drags the whole thing out
they haven't experienced the last two years like we have so they start from scratch, weighing everything up including Bruce, giving him yet more time

If Boro win today we are seven points and about 14 sides off top. I'm being pessimistic I know, but I can't see us overhauling that in our present state - too many teams above us will all have to lose form simultaneously and we will have to start stringing lots of wins together. To be honest, as it stands, even  the play-offs are out of reach . The owners might be new and being cautious because of that, but if they don't act now, the season is a write-off. as billionaires several times over, maybe they can take the hit for another season. Sadly the fans can't.

Is Bruce on a rolling contract? If so does he have to be given a period of notice to terminate this contract, if the owners want to avoid financial liabilities? Bruce clearly looks like he is playing out time, picking unbalanced teams. If notice has been given, start date and duration will obviously affect end date. I wish that were today! Bruce Out!
its reported as a one year rolling contract which would mean they have to pay him a years salary to fire him.

From the #AVFC away end at Bristol City tonight...
