Now he is saying that we have the "nucleus" to get "there or thereabouts" which implies he is thinking about shipping in more wingers and right wing backs to complete the bizarre puzzle.

I think the owners decided he was toast a good while ago but want to be sure about his replacement having been apprised of our recent history in managerial appointments. I the meantime it is a mean, mean time to be a Villa fan.

I had our game and the South Yorkshire derby on 2 screens and spent 90% of the time watching the latter which was fucking ace, by the way.

He has sucked every last bit of pleasure out of being a Villa fan of late.  Things have long past the point of no return, he has to go.

Agree 100% and this is in the context of a squad with Jack, Kod, Abraham, El Ghazi, Bolasie, and McGinn. There’s no excuse not to have an entertaining team.

I think he’s lost the dressing room. Players of that quality must be scratching their heads at the instructions that are being given, headless chickens have more organisation.

The attackers are not defending you eejit lol. Elphick is a great bloke and a great influence in dressing room and could well do a job in defence, but shipped off as I am the fat centre half

I’d just love some insight on what he actually does.
Well it’s start the day wiv a good breakfast Bacon sausage eggs beans cornflakes buttered white bread and a couple of mugs of tea.
Before you know it, it’s elevenses a couple of sarnies and 3 bags a crips.
Nip down the pub for a couple of pints and some pub grub, the all day breakfast is me favorite.
Then a couple of calls to me agent mates and me mates in the press.
A call to the Training ground to see if any one has turned up or asking for me.
Then it’s home to watch sky sports and me tea, beef burger and chips.
Down the pub for a few more pints and some grub. and back home for me dinner and fall asleep in front of TV until breakfast again.
Sometimes I get us a kebab on way home from the pub if I am peckish like.
Seriously mate, that is brilliant...so funny. My missus is wondering why I’m sobbing with laughter.
Thank you.

I make it 7 wins in the 24 games since we beat Wolves. Or in other words since we last played well for more than 15 minutes.

32 points from a possible 72. Over both seasons having one of the strongest squads in the league.

Bottled it last year repeatedly, this year not even in a position to bottle it.

Get ya'self tae Fuck.

7 in 20 since beating Wolves. Plus 1 in 3 play-off games.

We’re a big club, but we have no divine right to be good. I’m not annoyed because we’re Aston Villa and we inherently deserve to succeed. I’m annoyed because we have a squad that has more than enough talent to dominate the league. The manager is single handedly holding us back.

I don't think any Villa fan thinks we have devine right to be near the top these days, especially after summer exploits. However, the football is dreadful and it will not change with this dinosaur in charge

We are no further forward after he has had 4 transfer windows.  He cannot build anything.  I am fed up with his " we will be there or there abouts" and "it will be alright when it comes together".

We are no further forward after he has had 4 transfer windows.  He cannot build anything.  I am fed up with his " we will be there or there abouts" and "it will be alright when it comes together".

That's the problem.  We are producing the same kind of performances we did under him in his first season here, despite him having ample time and money to make things right.  He was on about losing six players over the summer again this week, but most teams in this division lose players (normally their best ones) and you don't hear their managers constantly complaining.  Look at the players Bristol City have lost over the past couple of years as an example.

We are never going to build anything sustainable under him because his whole gameplan revolves around keeping things tight and relying on someone to produce a bit of magic.  We have gone on good runs of form under him, but we haven't been able to sustain them because they are the result of a player or two having a hot streak.  Where he has really messed up this season is not finding the right calibre of players to replace Johnstone and Terry.  Both Nyland and Jedinak look capable of making mistakes pretty much every game and as a result, we can't keep the clean sheets which make can make his style effective.  When you couple that with none of our attacking players a really firing at the moment and we look a poor side, as we have at many points during his time at the club.

He should have gone after the play off final defeat, but I understand that circumstances at the club meant that might not have been an option.  All he has done so far this season, is confirm that should have gone in the summer and it is time for someone else to see what they can do with this group of players.  Even if he goes now though, he's done enough damage in terms of putting together an unbalanced squad to make it a testing job for anyone  coming in until the transfer window opens again in January.
