Relax folks.....Bruce knows what he’s doing.

He said so, phew that’s a weight off my mind....carry on, nothing to see here.

I watched the interview and the highlights this morning, both hilarious.
What a fucking idiot.

It's such an attractive job;

Huge club
Top flight facilities
Ridiculous squad
Insanely wealthy owners

It's all there crying out for a bit of organisation, planning Monday-Friday, systemic ideas of battering a side and then having the force of personality to deal with it and push it through.

And it needn't be a stepping stone as if you complete your objective then it's funny money time.

Agree with all of this. With our new owners we're a fantastic proposition, and accordingly we should be casting our net way wider than just this division or even just this country. I want to see us acting like the big, rich club we are. If we can afford proven quality then we should go and get it. I don't see why we need to taking punts any more.

I made a comment a few days ago that people would put up with Bruce's austerity type football for a short period of time providing the end portion result was worth it, but if it's not happening then he won't be around for too much longer.

I have a theory that the players have basically decided that they have had enough of Bruce and his shite football. I think they will have seen the new owners come in and come to the conclusion that with the squad that we have we should be running riot in this division, yet under Bruce we will probably finish mid table or play off at best. So footballers being footballers who are usually not short of confidence probably believe that they should be tearing up this division and have decided that they are tired of being played out of position, or tired of stone-age tactics have basically gone on strike.

Personally I don't think Bruce will be canned just yet. I predict one more game. As for the next manager, well I hope that the new owners have some good contacts, but I wouldn't be unhappy with a Wenger/Henry double act. Wenger boss, Henry assistant.

That's a good point Rico. Every man and his dog can see that this latest Bruce team is nowhere near promotion standard, and that must surely extend to the players. If we're suffering from deja vu they probably are as well. They know as well as we do that this shit will ultimately get us nowhere. It would explain why they look so frustrated and unmotivated.

there is absolutely nothing austere about the squad we have. Its cost several owners tens upon tens of millions.

Everything about Aston Villa is premier league. Every player who has  signed for us since our relagation has said so. Premier facilities, stadium, fan base, players. Except one thing: our style of football is definitely not, and that is down to one person. Steve Bruce. Get rid now. Let the new man have the international break and see where we go from there. Keep Steve Bruce and this season is over, yes we may get close to the play offs but we all know the next run of consecutive defeats is only just around the corner. The day of the dinosaur is over. Time for some creativity.

If there's one thing last year should have shown us, is that we can't afford to have a slow start and be playing catch up.

After 6 games last year, Cardiff were top, and Wolves were third.  Fulham improved massively to get into and win the play offs, but then they have a good manager with a clear and defined style of play.  We've got a bumbling idiot whose only come back is "I've got four promotions".

I agree we don't want a slow slow and we're 5 points off the space now, so we don't want that gap getting bigger.

But the top two look utter filth compared to the Dingles and Fulham so o don't think we'll have 3 sides go on such extraordinary runs this season.

The squad we have though, we probably ought to be able to do that.

Leeds look very far from being "utter filth" to be honest.  They're playing very good football and at the moment are the best team in the division.  That description would be better levelled at us, yesterday was the worst, most tragically inept display I've seen since Preston away under RDM.

Has Dean Smith been called yet? Utter dross.

With the unbalanced squad we have and no chance of rectifying it in the near future I don't think AVFC would be a wise choice for him at the moment.

You're kidding aren't you? We've got the best squad in the league. Any manager worth his salt would smash this league with our squad.
Not while we have 14 right backs, no decent left backs,  and one decent centre half who's been left stranded on his own we haven't.

They looked unimpressive Friday. As did Boro, but then that's expected. Mind you, they hard marginally the better chances.

A competent goalkeeper wouldn't go amiss either...

It's very difficult to ever get a very good game of football against a Pulis side.  Other than the first game of the season, Boro haven't conceded a single goal in the league.  Leeds may or may not drop off, but I think Boro will be top 2 or 3.  Being that good defensively is massive, and always gives you a chance.

I still don't understand why Elphick was allowed to go out on loan with no cover.  Unless we are taking Robert Huth.  Absolutely bizarre decision.  Chester seems out of sorts and I wonder if, despite him being skipper, prefers someone next to him who organises, screams and shouts if necessary.

The players are playing like they are confused.  Not a good sign.
