One fucking center back at the entire club, just take in how ridiculous that is. The man has completely lost it.

I've come to the conclusion that last season's relative success was more down to the galvanising effect of the senior players like Terry and Snodgrass than to Bruce.

Seems that way, dunnit.

Don't think this result alone is the end for Bruce, but it might be the beginning of the end.

No, it’s not just this result, it’s this one plus lots that went before, plus the bizarre failure to have an actual working defence in the squad.

Total dereliction of duty, maybe it’s an extra excuse to get his golfing mate back into the fold.  John Terry would be a massive upgrade on Jedinak right now.

If I was Jedinak, I think I’d just refuse to play centre half. He must know he can’t do it.

Sorry but John Terry is nearly 38 and his legs were going last season so I don't want him back for his playing ability.  That said, if he was prepared to sit on the bench or do a coaching role, I'd have him back in a heart beat.  I'm sure he would organise the defence far better than any of our current coaching staff might.   An Upgrade on Jedinak, maybe, but hopefully, we bring in someone who is free and pacier than either Jedinak or JT.

The writing was on the wall as well.

Taylor looked very poor for some time, a left back was needed.
The goalkeeper situation was crying out for a steadying influence.
The right back position was massively over stocked,no more required, get more from what we have.
Center back was a gaping omission. Samba and Terry then eventually Elphick all leave. Jedinak was tried there last season and was abysmal and cost us points.

Take a look at that set of circumstances, how do you equate that position to just signing a kid on loan for another right back and a lightweight foreign keeper? It's utterly bizarre, his transfer policy since he joined has been a fucking disaster.

This is where the incompetence of Bruce is there for all to see. To leave us defensively in this mess is breathtakingly poor. And from an experienced manager that playedin that position. I get Terry is nearly 38 and I’d much prefer another younger option but we are where we are and now our options are very limited.

Beggars can’t be choosers so we might not have a choice. I’m sure James Chester would prefer him alongside him right now.

Jedinak we know is utter shite at the back but for me Chester is very average without a more commanding presence guiding him. He also looks a yard slower this season and is making a lot of mistakes.

We need another defender in and fast, regardless if he stays or goes. It's beyond farcical how Bruce has left us in this position.

Second game in a row where Bruce has blamed the players for the performance.  He accepts that two or three hadn't trained all week and he shouldn't have picked them but most of the rest of them need to take a long hard look at themselves?  Well, I expect the coaching and management staff to do exactly the same.  I also expect the owners and Purslow to do the same very quickly.  They need to realise that this isn't just about the result yesterday but about the whole Bruce tenure.

This was the problem with leaving the twat in charge until now, he has completely fucked up the squad.

Can’t be long before he ‘loses the dressing room’.

To his right he has an inexperienced and not very good right back being played out of position.
Along side him he has a slow central midfield player with the turning circle of a cross Chanel ferry and to his left he has a RB with poor positional sense playing LB.
Ahead of them is a shambles, so I guess maybe his form might be suffering.

Yeah, very much in agreement on all that, Chester is the least problematic player in the whole squad.

We have one of the best if not the best squads in this division, last season apart from the surprise of Wolves everyone recognised Villa as having a very strong outfit for a manager to get it wrong so many times is inexcusable. Lets face it Bruce is a dinosaur his type of football died a long time ago he does not have a clue as to how to set the side up or any semblance of a game plan.
I would sack him and put Agnew in while we look for a replacement. We couldn't be any worse off.
