We've got a horrible looking run in mid season. If we go into that spell with this squad and playing like this, Bruce will be in trouble

But there's obviously a good chance to bring in 2-3 and get us playing better

We're far from the only team that isn't motoring and leeds' motor is likely to blow up in around January

Agree with point 1 but what makes you think bringing in more players will have us playing better?  It hasn't done that in the last two seasons, apart from a more organised defence with Terry, it's still Bruceball.

Also what makes you think Leeds will blow up by January?  Because they did last year, under a completely different manager?  They may well blow up due to Bielsa's infamous volatility but I don't see it as a given.  He's a good coach, way out of Bruce's league, and they are playing different football.  If they can keep a lid on the volcano I can see them being up there, if not doing a Wolves.

1. Our football was definitely better in the second half of the season with jack in the side and Snodgrass in form. There's just no argument

2. Because that's what Bielsa teams do. They run out of energy. And in a 46 game league that's more rather than less likely

It's what Leeds do. This, Douglas apart and Ronaldo Viera whose left, is the same side that started off like a train last season.

You feel there's a high likelihood with the extra work they're doing off the ball that similar will happen, particularly if they pick up injuries.

Our run during November and December:

Derby (a)
SHA (H)
Forest (h)
Boro (a)
West Brom (a)
Stoke (h)
Leeds (h)
Swansea (a)
PNE (A)

Up to new year. Would be surprised if we don't see a new manager during thar period unless we sign some amazing loan players in next two weeks.

30 points from those easy you pants wetter. I know there's only 9 games but we'll be so good we'll be awarded a bonus 3 points for Christmas.

I'm possibly evading thinking about it too much. But I'm not in the worrying camp just yet. Granted, I'm not hugely confident that Bruce will have developed answers to many of the questions his style of play and tactical limitations raised in his first 18 months. To an extent we've often got by on individual quality (Snoddy, Grealish, Hourihane, Kodjia in his first season) rather than dominating. We've not taken enough sides to the sword either, but historically we've never been like that.

McGinn looks good. Keeping Grealish was key. Keeping Chester was key. Kodjia hitting form and staying fit will be key. Because they (particularly the attackers) will win us games that we're making hard work of. This is the championship. Tactical wizardry doesn't come into it as much as pragmatism (historically). Warnock can get out of this league. Bruce has done it before. We nearly did it last season. Pulis has started the season well. Yes some teams do it convincingly, with some style. But you can still get by, being fuck ugly.

It was less Bruce's tactical limitations which let us down and more his failure to rotate an old squad enough. To an extent he's being railroaded into having to inject more youth and energy (by our circumstance). That may see us avoid the same kind of poor runs which blighted us in the last 2 years. I hope...

I'm just hoping he does it. I'm not fancying top 2. I think it may be another playoff stab. But all this aside, given how shit our summer was. An unbeaten start, even whilst hardly convincing, I'll take.

Ask me again after the next two home games. Win both, even by the skin of our dobbers, then great. We need momentum early. I'd rather be constantly close to the top. By the time we spanked Wolves we just had a sniff, but we didn't have the legs in the side, and we fell away.

Before the takeover though, I think we'd have been lucky to get mid-table.

As much as I'm not a huge Bruce fan, I have to get behind him. Because if it comes to a point where he has to go, then we've basically fucked the season anyway. We know he's not going to find the secret answer to dominating games convincingly and with style. Not gonna happen. So we hope he remains efficiently tough to beat and beyond that, we just need to pray our best players stay fit and win us the games required.

Rodgers won't be staying in Glasgow much longer. Woeful result in Europe last week and unable to compete with us for McGinn. However if fans were annoyed with the shite Bruce spouts....Rodgers is in a different league completely.

There was a viral "who said it" quiz between david brent and brendan rodgers quotes, so you're right he is prone to talking nonsense. Even so, he has a brand of football and demands that his players are coached to suit that style.  That seems like a world away to what we have now.

Bruce is the Championship manager version of Mourinho

does just enough, ie 4th and 2nd
cant improve the players he buys
rubbish football to watch
moans makes excuses and deflects criticism
Negative tactics
living off their of past successes
high turnover of managers in very recent years mean they have been given more time that others never got
most fans are fed up of the boring football
a few fans remain loyal no matter what and think they are the right men to lead the clubs forward
both wasted a bucket load of money on poor players

both will probably stumble on to the end of the season when all the usual excuses and a few new ones will be trotted out as why they should be given ‘one more season’

I'll defend Bruce and say that generally he is good at man management.  Most of our players appear to respect and like him.  Players used to love playing for Mourinho but he appears to have lost that knack recently.

maybe no proof but I think he makes a fair point

I’m comparing the two managers in their respective leagues and while Bruce’s players may not have produced the goods i would say they have played for him respect him and have a good team spirit, whereas I don’t think that’s the case with Mourinho, he seems to have lost the dressing room

...we might be top proper, depending on how Leeds fair
The season is going to be a right merry-go-round, that's for sure.

Ok?

Fun fair metaphor would be my guess. In which case BE might have chosen one of those demented rides in Las Vegas.

What goes in Vegas stays in Vegas.
'fair' is sometimes confused with 'fare'.

I think I would have much more sympathy for Bruce had he not started half the team out of position in the last couple of games. If he gets a left back, winger and striker of any quality though, realistically we should be top 4 again with the players we have.

That’s a big part of the frustration. He creates his own issues and negative conversation amongst fans by needlessly doing that. He has options to play players in their best positions and he chooses not to. If they end up making. IstKes that’s as much on the manager as anything else.

We have more right backs than we know what to do with, so we loan in a centre half and play him at a Right Back, sorry that’s idiotic.
