It's always good man management to run down the kids on live TV. A real confidence booster for them.

It's the way he separates himself from the team even though he's boss that gets me.

Having heard the interview saying it's real football and that's what's it's like .

How his honest approach is some sort of double bluff as he says not good enough.  It's up to him to have players motivated.

Unbelievable how he speaks sometimes very old sounding and not updated

Not a Bruce fan but many have been banging on about him not playing the kids maybe he knows they are simply not good enough.

Doesn't stop him playing Jedi at CB, Neil Taylor and so on and he doesn't chuck them under the bus when they're shit.

I hope the owners are equally unimpressed at his post-match blame-scattering - and anyone who still takes consolation from the idea that Bruce is at least a nice and decent guy. Hanging our young players out to dry to mask his own incompetence shows again that he's as pig-headed and self-serving as all the other arses who've helped land us where we are. The man's completely disingenuous and clearly thinks we're as thick as him.

Maybe they haven't got a bloody clue what they're supposed to be doing. I've been watching his bilge for nearly two years and I can't see any semblance of a plan. As PWS says, some of the senior players are patently rank but it doesn't stop him shoe-horning them into the team regardless, without criticism. Age and experience doesn't seem to matter, the fact is that too many of our players play badly too often.

What is their football knowledge though? Are we going down the same route we did with Lerner believing everything MoN told him?

Not heard the Sky interview, but listening the the OS it's hard to disagree. We were poor first half, Doyle-Hayes did do ok, they did find it difficult as Yeovil were a big side and they worked exceptionally hard.

I don't think he's thrown anybody under the bus.

I thought Axel played well and looked assured at centre half, which is where I hope he stays.

He overstates Moreira performance as his coming for the ball and distribution was iffy, but I have no problem with him talking him up.

It sounds like they've received a bollocking.

Best start in 50 years. Naturally Bruce out.

It was great that the youngsters got the chance last night cos this was the ideal game to start them in as, in the long run, the result didn’t really matter. A good coach would build on that experience so they get up to speed and build their confidence. Instead he is critical of them and suggests that loan deals are forthcoming. Back to last season then!! So much for rebuilding

trouble is most of them aren't ready for the first team and do need loans. For example RHM was dominated by Yeovil's two big centre backs - if the lad really wants to cement a first team place he's got to  learn to dominate them. The only hope he has of doing that is to get 30 plus games consecutively , and that'snot going to happen yet with us.

He's wrong if he talks players up and equally at fault for apportioning blame.

I'm no fan of Bruce when it comes to style but have long since reconciled myself to that fact, never mind the quality, feel the width.

I've no doubt that this will be his last season managing us in the Championship, he will leave/be removed if we fail to go up. I have serious misgivings about his leadership if we make the PL but will worry about that if it happens.

In the meantime, having spent the summer shitting it that we would go bust, I'm quite enjoying that fact that we are playing and winning games.

And the Sky interview is similar to the OS.

I'm really bemused by the response? The performance was utter mince. This has been a big learning curve and the young players know it and ought to realise that a walking pace isn't good enough and how far physically they must come to get a foothold in the game.

He's critical of the entire performance and rightfully so.

I would hope they're far more up for it off the ball against Ipswich and we add a bit more sense at the back with Axel at centre half and full backs at full back.

I agree

I don't think he singled out the youngsters at all

I didn't disagree with anything he said

And we definitely need to get these kids out on loan. It's just not competitive enough at under 23 level. Maybe it would be if we ever managed to get promoted out of the second tier of under 23 footballl
