as recent events have shown, without the  recent goodwill of two billionaires, we might well now be facing extinction.

They own the club. It's a bit different to a third party dictating our transfer policy.

Two people buy a business. They employ an outside consultant to look after part of the business. It happens all the time.

Show me another business where the consultant owns the business' employees/assets and earn his money by getting rid of them to other businesses.

What you're describing would breach 3rd party ownership rules wouldn't it?

Very likely. Ask Wolves.

People have. "They'm just jealous" is apparently their reply.

"We have the nucleus of a decent team, all of a sudden it is ripped apart and they have gone back to their parent club so for me, it is like starting all over again from when I arrived some 20 months ago"

Unbelievable.  The sooner this fraud leaves, the better.

Someone needs to explain to Steve how the loan system works, or what the word loan means.

Or to put another way ie: without the spin "wor had some very expensive players I was allowed to sign or to loan in. The most expensively assembled squad in championship history. I failed to take advantage of this huge advantage and wa missed oot on promotion thus putting the club in a perilous financial position. Somehow I've kept me job and they have given me another shot at it but this time a havne got the luxury of such riches so I'm gonna have to give it me best shot"

As I have said previously, Bruce is completely disingenuous in his latest diatribe to the press.

For a start, of 2 of the 6 players he listed as ‘leaving us light’’ one barely featured (Tuanzabe) and the other was a bit part player at best (Onamah).
I think he genuinely believes that the fans are as gullible as the press. The press lap it up out of respect for the ‘old Britsh stager, carrying the flag for British managers who all get unfairly treated.
Many fans though can see through his bullshit.

We had the nucleaus of a good side which has been ripped apart?
Way to go Steve, that is top confidence boosting, morale lifting stuff that is!

And now we need to be younger, we had too many players the wrong side of 30 last year!
Well, whose fucking fault was that ??

I sincerely hope the new ‘owners’ are not naive enough to be bewitched by his soft Geordie lilt, and apparent ‘honesty’ but see the spin and deflection and his complete lack of ownership for our continued stay in this division.

I hope that they are demanding and ruthless and if and when the time comes to change the manager they do so decisively.

End of the day they've not invested that sort of money in the club to let things slide under someone else's choice of manager. It doesn't look like they're backing him with any sort of big money on players, so really Bruce is either going to match their expectations or be binned. Bad start to the season and i wouldn't be surprised if he's gone in a month.

Erm. I dunno what happened here like. I appear to have posted the same thing twice.

And then cue the press and his pally pundits saying it's disgusting, he hasn't been given time, these foreign owners deserve what they get etc. etc.

True, but it often happens with takeovers. The manager already there, limps along for a few months until they've sussed the lie of the ground, and maybe they think after getting to the play-offs, sacking him now would seem harsh to Bruce's supporters as well as his pals in the press. It's only natural they'll want their own man in unless they took us over because they always wanted to own a club managed by Bruce. I'm not sure that's the best way of doing it given the likely choice of managers halfway through a season, but pretty understandable.

They can't back him with big money, FFP remember?!

As for Bruce saying the nucleus of the side has gone, he's right, it has. What we don't really know is how much of a choice he had re loans versus buys last summer and whether Round and Wyness held the cards.

I'm sure Bruce wouldn't have said no to Snodgrass, Terry, Grabban, etc. but the question for me is how much control and influence did he have?

But it is time to start afresh, and let's hope we do just that.

But we're not starting afresh are we? We still have the same one step forward two steps back manager. (Think wolves 4-1) Last season I  changed my mind more more times than I changed my underpants regarding Brucey. Unless he morphs into a forward thinking master tactician I'm done with him. As ever I only want what's best for the Villa. I sincerely hope he does the business and proves me wrong. Only time will tell.
