Yeah, it's a part of modern football which seems very shady. It's wrong when a agent becomes a clubs scout.

I understand that position Dave. But I’m also tired of being on the outside looking in. I appreciate there is a way to do things and this approach might not be everyone’s cup of tea. But if it gives us a leg up to get back to European relevance, then I want in. I’m not going to live forever. I want Villa to be at the upper echelons of the game in my lifetime.
But is it good for us, or is it just good for Mendes? I'm way beyond naively believing that we can be both ethical and successful, but what happens to us, or Wolves for that matter, when we have three or four world-class players and Real Madrid are interested? -

I tend to agree.
I go to the Villa with a season ticket holder of over 50 years, and he always has a positive outlook about Villa and is the glass half full type (pisses me off no end).
Anyway, when it all blew up with Xia the week after the playoff and we were staring into the abyss, I have never seen my mate so down about the future of the club. He genuinely could not see how we would ever be successful again, before he karks it.
Now, he (we) have been given a whole new lifeline. His attitude is now that he can’t wait to see how things pan out and that we might become relevant again, even if it takes a few years.
We have hope again, and if that means we have get into bed with people like Mendes, that isn’t such a bad thing is it?
It pains to say it, but I’d rather be where the dog heads are now, than where we are. -

Won’t that always be the way with or without Mendes? We are on the football food chain and will always be prey to bigger/wealthier/more established sides. What I want to see is us climb that chain so that we are less susceptible to our players being poached. But in the end if Man U can lose Ronaldo or Barca can lose Neymar then we are more than fair game. -
