Oh yeah, sorry. I'd actually let him go in Jan if De Laet shows his quality and I think there might be a player in Bree.

Story that we are looking at Peter Kenyon as CEO. He is also reported to be close to Mendes.
If true, I think the pressure on Bruce to deliver will be immense.

Forget all this bollox about the owners know it’s a slow burner and will take time.
Once they get the bit between their teeth I think (and hope) they will be very demanding.

Yes, we have lost a few players, but Bruce talking about ‘it’s like starting all over again’ is very disingenuous, and I think, designed to deflect and lower expectations on him.
Personally, I hope he is in for a rude awakening.

Just because something takes time though doesn't mean you shouldn't strike and drive for success or quality. But the opportunity has to be right.

A CEO with some pedigree and experience of success is an absolute must.

Did Kenyon last work at Chelsea or has he been at another club since?

That's the sort of CEO I'd be after. Guy who's worked at clubs where they expect to win every week.

Nobody since Chelsea in 2009.

Lots of dealings with Mendes...

For many reasons I'd be deeply suspicious and unhappy about that.

For the uninitiated (me), why? I’ve no doubt that your reasons are well-founded but I know naff all about him, other than that Chelsea poached him from Man Utd.

I am aware he was at United and Chelsea but I don't recall ever forming a strong opinion of him one way or the other.

I was thinking more of the Mendes connection. I don't like what he's done with Wolves, I'd be suspicious of why he was involved with us and I'm totally opposed to someone who isn't a club employee having a major influence on our business.

I understand that position Dave. But I’m also tired of being on the outside looking in. I appreciate there is a way to do things and this approach might not be everyone’s cup of tea. But if it gives us a leg up to get back to European relevance, then I want in. I’m not going to live forever. I want Villa to be at the upper echelons of the game in my lifetime.
