Henry is a big fan of NBA. I wonder if there is a connection there.

Again Dave woods is your man ?!  ;)

Any chance you could stop going on about Dave fucking Woods in every single fucking post? Fuckng hell.

Read above I'm over it ! No more

Though it's the same feeling I had when hearing everyone talk about Henry every post !

I promise no more mention as I can imagine it's irritation . So the exercise illustrates  the same feelings I had reading people talk about a nonsense story !

I ve shut up and thank you for allowing me to express no more will be said . My word !

Disappointing news to wake up to, but possibly a sensible decision from the new guys.

Let's see if Bruce can wake up and introduce exciting tactics.

Morning fella. Seriously bad news and it’s going to be another miserable season that is if he is not gone by October.

Back to the situation in hand and the reality . So October sounds like that's around the 10 match mark.

Personally agree with the disappointing that have to endure the style of play , the interviews but some sort of optimism that will get things going as it's the new season excitement.

On this subject of Bruce staying I think timing was why if nothing else . New investors coming at start of June and before the world cup then Bruce out but now ?! The timing was to keep things sensible.

I can imagine the meeting surrounded budgets and where they will go with in and out of players.

Targets still need to be set and met and please the playing style !

I can only have a comparable to the big Sam leaving Everton . Ultimately Bruce could be leaving in the future due to Villa wanting to seek a new direction ! as much as failure in results . One thing definitely needed are the consistency of performances really needs to improve .

I honestly think this is a terrible decision that will set us back years.  Bruce has already played a big part in our almost demise, and now he’s going to get the chance to carry on. Frankly unbelievable.

We've watched badly managed, disorganised shite for 8 years now. Another three months while they decide how to tackle it is not the end of the world.

Eight? Try eighteen.

As for Bodger Bruce, I'll wish him all the luck in the world, just this time I hope his luck is not exclusive to his own survival and reputation. I'm not expecting a massive change but I do hope he does enough to realise he's been winging it.

The alarm bells were ringing loud and clear for me today when I realised it was very unlikely the more experienced Bould would not be joining Henry. It's one thing having a novice taking over surrounded by experience, it's quite another to give the keys of Villa Park to a virgin without protection.

That said, I still have next to no faith in Bruce and believe this thread won't stretch to 1,400 posts. Fans are too tired and wise to his very limited talents, even if he compliments them at every press conference. As the old saying goes, an insult from and idiot should be taken as a compliment. The opposite is also true.

We go again..

Gary Rowett, Zola and new owners come to mind. Right decision imo.

Morning mate. I feel much the same.

The new dilemma is do I fork out for AVTV again? :) Getting up for the midweek games became a struggle at times last season. Then again, I did it for Houllier, Mccleish, Lambert, Sherwood, Garde and Di Matteo. Bruce hasn't completely destroyed me. Yet.

We'll see what happens. It'll be interesting to see how patient the new guys are. And more importantly, what they think of the football being served up.

I don’t think it will Riss. But I am very disappointed by this also. But I think it was viewed as the best decision for right now given all of the options and where we are so close to the start of the season. I would absolutely hope that these guys will now put in place people to take a hard look at everything and even sound out options should as we expect things start off poorly. I think the rope Bruce has is very short.

One of the things I wanted to see from new investment was some brain power behind the use of the wealth they have and hopefully will put into the club.

Sacking an experienced manager, who did not meet his objective last year, but put 80 goals and points on the board, two weeks before the start of the season and with no football knowledge would be akin to Tom Fox's shortlist of 1.

I think you are right - but the real dilemma is that we need to add to the squad by at least four if not five players and that 's assuming Grealish and Chester stay. I wouldn't trust any money to Bruce at the moment so it's the short term option of loans and frees again. Hardly the foundations needed for future prosperity. Of course it would be great if people like RHM O'Hare etc could step in but they always appear to be injured.

The key is getting in a DoF that the owners can trust to run the show. The new owners are business men and will not have a hands-on approach. I think the replacement for Wyness should take a secondary role to the DoF.

The idea of getting a proper structure in place and then picking the right manager makes plenty of sense.

Unbelievably bad decision.   The best chance we have had in the post Ellis era to do something far sighted and usher in the root and branch change that is needed at Villa Park and they bottled it.

I will do what I said I would do and see the first few games on my season ticket.  If it is more of the same from Bruce then I am walking away until, if ever, the club comes to its senses.  Another season of pain looms large.

Bottled it is entirely the right decision. I predict it won’t take many games and excuses from Mr Thereabouts before the feel good factor starts to dissipate.
