people on here talking about Bruce as if he he's been pulling up trees for the last two years and playing football we will miss when he's gone like when BFR got the boot,
now that was a sad day

but Bruce has been stinking the place out for the best part of two seasons, built nothing sustainable in that time, disaster in the transfer market

he won't be missed by me whenever that time comes

Yep and that’s a reasonable point too. I think Risso articulated it well when he said that no one could do worse than that first half of the play-off final.

We all wanted him to succeed. I understood the appointment which for me was a practical appointment even though not in the least bit inspiring. However, he was given a mission in year one which he failed to deliver on. There was more than enough time to rescue the season and get us into the playoffs at the very least. Then with a full pre-season and two windows who failed yet again as well as most of the time serving utter shit football. I'll be delighted to see the back of him.

The worst news I could read tomorrow is that Steve Bruce stays on as manager.

I reckon I could think of one or two worse than that......

I’ll start with:

‘Pardew in Talks With Villa’

‘Cotterill in Talks With Villa’

‘Fry In Talks With Villa.’

His time has passed, wouldn't say he's stunk the place out, did a good job keeping us up when he was first appointed, some bewildering negative football afterwards, some of the players transferred in, just incredible, one thing is for sure, the nail in his coffin was that terrible performance in the final, he must know that, no shock here when he departs in the next few days or hours, if Thierry Henry takes over, well thought of, world class footballer, knows the game, respected, don't agree with Lee hendrie chapter and verse about lack of experience for Villa, lot of people said that about Southgate and England, who knows it may just be the making of us, turn that corner, at last.

It's pretty faint praise though.

And Pulis. That would be horrendous.

No it’s been pretty up and down, and you’d say at the key stages he’s always failed. But I suppose that depends on your perspective.

I don't think Bruce has stunk the place out. But he's failed however you try and slice it. There have some good moments and lots of dull ones. But I'd accept a season of dull for promotion but we got dull and no promotion. A shit combination.

He hasn't. He's just not done enough or what could have been expected with the resources at his disposal.

I would caveat that further and say away from home. At home we're excellent.
