No chance of being near the top 6 with a depleted team and this fat twat at the rudder.

The thing I don't understand about Bruce's interview is his negativity and acceptance of how things are. It sounds like "clubs know our position and will fuck us over" it's basically totally defeatist and exactly the opposite to what we need to hear from the manager right now. Talk like that will undoubtedly push DOWN the price we can get for our best players. Fighting talk is what we need to hear now. "we won't be pushed around" "we will fight to keep our best players" etc etc. He has severely weakened our negotiating stance. If I was Xia I'd be fucking fuming with him right now.

Weren't not going to get market value for anyone. We know that. Why would Spurs give us 40m when they know we're desperate ?

Bruce hasn't told them we're desperate, EVERYONE in the world knows we are. It's not some big secret he's let's slip that's sent shockwaves through football this morning.

'We want to hear the truth'

'Hang on ... Not that much truth!'

We will be pushed around because that's the reality of the situation. Let's imagine for instance Bruce said 'we know what Jack's worth, he wont go for a penny less' then come deadline day we sell him for 20m as it's the only offer on the table. He'd be fucking crucified by the same old people for bullshitting

He really can't win can he ?

If we get one offer of 7m for Chester before the deadline, he'll be gone. Doesn't matter if he's worth twice that.

That's the reality of the situation.

And that's basically it. It's extremely unfortunate and very bloody annoying but it's where we are. People wanted answers, he gave them. It wasn't what any of us wanted to hear but it was the truth.

In what way has he severely weakened our negotiating stance? I've seen a few people say this on twitter and I don't get it. We're not exactly in a position to turn down offers which might not be quite what we want.

If there's a single person involved in football who doesn't know that we are financially on our arse I'd love to meet them.

That's nothing like the reality of the situation.  Do you honestly think that Spurs will be the only club interested in a young player with Jack's talent?  As soon as more than one club are interested, then it becomes a lot more difficult for one club to take the piss.  Every single club in the Premier League an afford him, every single one.  And once we get towards the deadline date in August, we'll start to get much closer towards his market value, whatever that clueless idiot Bruce thinks.  So if Spurs for example, think a derisory offer of £15m will get him, then another club will say, let's try and steal a march for £18m.  If you get three clubs interested in him, he'll be going for £25m minimum.  Assuming there's anybody left at the club who actually knows what they're doing of course.

What Bruce said wasn't the truth, it was the world according to Steve Bruce trying to cover his fat arse.

Any one considered that we might just be better off taking the FFP fine rather than sell assets at under value?
No one goes into a market saying I have got to sell at any price, this is basic common sense stuff.
Bruce has effectively thrown in the towel and for that alone he should not be any where near transfer negotiations.
I am sure his mates in the football world  are relishing the up coming negotiations though.

he will still have all 23.9 million pounds worth of his players around him plus the free gift of Taylor to start the season with

there's plenty of managers in the championship can only dream of that amount of bounty

Didn't Bournemouth get fined something like £4m recently for when they broke FFP rules? Their situation may have been different to ours mind.

It was different as it was before the rule changes where there can be any punishment they like.

This , basically they smartened up to clubs overspending then being promoted and not being able to punish them. Now they access it earlier and can demoted your places / points

But he has had no money ......

Basically he has the same kind of squad / funds as Warnock had I highly doubt he will get us anywhere near 2nd mind you ...

If the book is £12.99 I'll offer them £5.99 because they will be desperate to shift them.

So your happy for our manager to say nothing to rally the players and supporters. Your happy for him to announce to the world that we're a carcass of a football club just ripe for the vultures? I think that right now our beloved football club needs a leader with some fight in his belly. Each to their own.
