I think we may have to settle for the play offs this season.
You are hilarious.

Unbelievable that he's done that. He's not an idiot so I can only assume he's trying to get the boot and fleece the club for generous compensation. No man with half a brain cell goes out and undermines the club by devaluing its own assets in that way. "We have to sell our best players and guess what? Not even for what they're worth!"

Prick.

I watched the interview on the Villa website.   I think I would respect him more if he said he felt he needed to stay because he partially owns the current predicament and wants to stay out of his sense of loyalty to the fans and club, but I guess I am becoming hysterical eh Steve?  Not a single bit of recognition that Bruce assisted with brining players in on big wages.  That he also failed and takes some responsibility for that.  He gave the impression that there is SOME money to spend but would have to rely on player sales first, as expected.  Then we look at bargain basement and use his experience and links to other clubs to bring in players.  If Levy is up to his usual twattish self then he will offer £4.50 for Jack on deadline day and expect to sign him.  Hopefully, Bruce will ask for players in return if we cannot get a better deal.   Perversely, I am (not quite) looking forward to what Bruce can do with so few tools.  I would also like the press to ramp up the pressure on McCormack and Richards again.  Thieves.

The official site video isn’t too bad, it’s the Sky one with his pal that’s the most damning. Definitely trying to get the sack with that one. Saying being honest to fans, in other words Tony isn’t and devaluing our best assets puts us even more in the shit. What a fucking shambles.

Stay and fight on.  Hasn't he walked out of virtually all clubs he has managed?  Except as we say when he is earning £3m in the twilight of his management career.

According to his fanboy Nursey in the Mirror walking out on those clubs hasn't sat well with him which is why he hasn't walked out on us ...

As for his getting another job , he may well do but not on the salary here and not at a club as big ..like all our most recent managers once he leaves us its all downhill and he bloody well knows it

What else was he supposed to say? He isn't going to say that it's all his fault, which it isn't, and he isn't going to say that promotion isn't a certainty, which it most definitely isn't. He is going to paint the blackest picture possible and say that he is the man to make the best of it, which is exactly what he said.

If the season goes badly, he can say "well I warned you it might be like this". If it goes well then he will have exceeded expectations and everyone will say how wonderful he is. He is just being a politician like they all are when in front of a camera.

Walking out on clubs hasn't sat well with him? He's done it to about half a dozen clubs over a 20 year period. Funny how it only doesn't sit well with him when he'd be walking away from £3m a year.

The only good thing I can find to say about the Sky interview is that Bruce does have luxurious hair.

What came out of his mouth was complete and utter tosh.

Unless I am  completely misreading the situation, Bruce has just made a statement basically saying to Xia go on sack me.

I think he knows that the club has fucked up and is looking for the best way out financially.

Why would he attempt to be different on one video than another though ? Dr Tony and the fans are likely to see them both. I've read the selected comments PWS posted up from the Sky interview and the only difference seems to be is that he's mentioned players by name.

More exposure on the Sky one ?

Absolutely no need to name names and is of no benefit to the club

Absolute tosspot

This i'm afraid.  What convinced me was the way he distanced himself from Xia with the ''whether the owner has got any money or not'' jibe and the air that none of this had anything to do with him. He just went merrily on holiday and then...boom.

If you didn't already know the situation you'd think he'd only taken over last week as some act of kindness.

Whether he'd named names or not, i'm not sure what difference it makes. They're the main three that are most likely to get us any decent sort of money so why not come out and be honest about it?

This over analysis looking for hidden meaning between the lines is daft. It’s not House of Cards.
